Iowa Football Recruiting

That's probably half of your fan base that had access to the internet back then. To say it was a small portion of your fan base that wanted him fired is false.
I would say 75% of their fans at least wanted him gone. They just couldn't either get on the internet from their trailer parks, or all those Kirkwood and Coe college students didn't know how to spell Ken O'keefe's name.

I would say that's probably pretty accurate.

On Friday, the University of Iowa announced that offensive coordinator Ken O'Keefe was leaving the program after 13 years. Though they didn't specifically mention where O'Keefe was going next, rumors swirled that he was taking a job with the Miami Dolphins, possibly as receivers coach.

Saturday, that news became official. O'Keefe is off to sunny Miami and the lucrative pastures of the NFL.

The reaction I've gotten to this news has been a resounding "finally" amongst Iowa faithful.

He had become a target for increasing fan criticism because of Iowa's often buttoned-down style of play. Few days went by this season when I didn't get a question or comment from a Hawkeyes fan asking if Ferentz could just please fire O'Keefe and bring in a more wide-open style of play.

One thing's for sure: it will be a fascinating offseason to follow in Iowa. Many Hawkeyes fans wanted big changes to be made with this program, and for better or worse, that's what they're getting.

Yep, great hashtag. This staff is really good on social media, not as good as they are at recruiting but close

Agreed. If only they could find a coaching staff that actually knows how to actually coach its players. Getting blasted by 30+ points in your Super Bowl is not a good look.

There you go with all of your facts and evidence again. Hok fans can't be bothered with such nonsense. They need to live in their own little fantasy world where they think they are actually relevant.

Bleacher Report is the sports equivalent of fake news.

Thats not saying much and doesnt come close to proving the 75% argument you agreed with earlier.

You're living in a fantasy world if you think a majority of your fans didn't want KOK fired as the OC. You can say they were idiots but to pretend like that isn't the case is stupid. Your fans hated him at the end of his tenure

I state facts. Iowa State is consistently better than Iowa in basketball, and very soon football. You will see after we embarrass you in JTS this fall. You got lucky you played us while we were still implementing our system. With a year under the CMC regime, you stand very little chance to win in the fall. Good luck with little Brian and his reject assistants tho.

What kind of head coach is still implementing his system in Week 2 of the season?

You don't change the entire culture by week 2. How did KF do in his first year again??? The difference is, we have a lot of talent, and we are bringing in a lot more. This staff is bringing it.
