George Brett pine tar game on ESPN Classic right now

Brett laced a single to center in the first, Lou Piniella also singled to center, and Dave Winfield and Don Baylor are ripping the ball. Bud Black (now SD manager) is pitching for the Royals.

Brett is still my favorite athlete of all time, so I'm a little pumped to see him in action again. :smile:

It's the 25th Anniversary of the "pine tar" game which, I assume, is the reason ESPN Classic is showing the game (in 1-hour condensed fashion).

What a bunch of B.S. At least the call was overturned later by the League, and the Royals ended up winning the game. :smile:
