Not complaining about Monte, just pointing out how stupid the pregame and postgame comments made him look.
didn't hear post game, but anybody who talks is subject to getting made look bad if you don't back it up. But back to the point.. you a fan of your team rushing to the student section after wins against low-tier B1G teams?

Pretty much doubled down a la Aaron White.

And I'm just pointing out how stupid it is trying to make a player look bad when he has dominated Iowa over his career.

Im not saying hes a bad player, although he played terrible in CHA this year.

He is actually a hell of a college player.

Thank you for linking that. I wouldn't have said that, but whatevs. Again, back to my question, though..................

I dont have a problem with the team celebrating with fans after any win....not on the court though unless you take down a highly ranked opponent. You know, a legit reason for a court storm.

Not beating some unranked team at home.

Like 2012 and beating Wisconsin at home... for Iowa's second win that season against said Wisconsin team...

Thank God none of us have to worry about pleasing you before we do anything in life.

If your team comes back from way down in the half and from six in the last minute - especially to your instate rival - why wouldn't you enjoy the moment to the max? The students should celebrate that win.

The contention that an instate rivalry game doesn't matter to fans or players is foolish. Everyone has to live with it being brought up constantly for the next 12 months. That should add a little more skin to the game.

For Iowa fans to act like that was some run of the mill 83-82 barn burner like 201 is just dumb... Iowa State was watching its #4 ranking go up in smoke was flat getting run out of Hilton with 12 minutes left. Then Iowa was up six with a minute left... and had the ball.

The Houdini act Iowa State pulled to win that game and have it capped by Monte's runner... that is a lot of damn emotion in a rivalry game and it boiled over onto the court.

No, it's "hard to travel from DSM to IA City on a week night." Cuz it's not like there isn't 300,000+ people between the Cedar Rapids/IA City area.

We travel 7+ hours round trip for 3 hours of Hilton Magic. Been season ticket holders for years, and we're not the only ones. Tons of Cyclone cars heading back to NW Iowa late at night (or early the next morning for 8 pm tips!). We'll be back next year, excited to watch a young team grow. Hok fans will never understand our passion...we are Cyclones.
