Kamilo Tongamoa Commits

Tongamoa is a huge guy. He is very hard to block in his videos. I really like how he does not over pursue once he gets through the offensive line. He gets through the line, sits down, and looks to make a play. This shows me that he is very coachable. It appears that he was a linebacker in HS. Should see a lot of improvement as he continues to learn to play on he defensive line. Great addition.

@AlexHalsted: Iowa State has moved up four spots, to No. 33 overall, in the 247Sports Composite with its two JUCO DT commits today.

The way he can sit down and hold a spot should go great with Lima who is more like Tucker and aggressive.

Does anyone know if these guys will be spring or summer guys

19 3-star commits. 14 seniors listed on the CF scholarship chart. How many more will we take in this class?

I think we will be around 25. There are several guys that we don't turn down if they want to come. It will be interesting to see how that all shakes out

Add Jahmal Johnson and Josh Bailey who will be RS frosh likely next year and prob just need 1 more Juco DT to round it out. Plus we do have Garcia and Trent? I think next year.
Garcia and Trent will both be rSr's next year. I think Johnson is going to be really really good and Bailey has some potential as well. With the 2 new JUCO's, we are set at DT for 2017 and 2018.

Tongamoa was the recruit I was wanting to get more than pretty much all the others. Huge need in the middle of the DL and a JUCO guy that is huge and has the talent to step in next year right away. If you can get a guy in the middle that can eat up two blockers, it makes it that much easier for the edge guys to get to the QB.

This never gets old. Normally this time of year under CPR we'd be getting excited and trying to spin the potential out of a kid that is 6'3' 240 lbs trying to play DT in a few years down the road and crossing our fingers. Now were seeing kids commit will be playing their first year here.

I could go the rest of my life without hearing someone say "you can put alot of good weight on his frame." That might have been CPR's only recruiting criteria.

JStanz51 or CWill - any update on Tongamoa? We've all heard he's been offered by Oregon and others and has taken visits. Where do we sit with him? Still committed - would be a great piece to plug into this line alongside Bailey, Leo, Lima etc...
