Burtons jumping ability???

I think he jumps fine, but just makes odd choices about what to do with the ball sometimes.

He's never been the quickest to get off the floor, and being a 6'4" guy often playing center doesn't help.

He's fine in the open and with space to move.

He can still jump, he just makes inside shots harder than they need to be. He likes to make the finesse/highlight move vs. the simple, power move. He plays like he has Monte's body vs. someone 6'5" & 240lb

The thing is, at times he's mind blowingly explosive. Then other times he takes weird off balance shots.
If he had a mean streak, he'd be an extremely difficult guy to guard.

Deonte is a freak athlete. It's all in his head IMO. He needs to meet Kane and Ejim. They could put a little fire into his belly. If he would just stop worrying about running people over, he would dominate. I'd deal with a few charges, if it meant more dunks like he had earlier today.

Buford can jump like hell. Burton can't jump over a can of tuna from what I hear.

But I suppose cans of tuna is better than measuring Georges and his jumping ability with sheets of paper.

On another note, I listened to the game on ESPN radio while driving, and the announcers called him "Deon Burton" during the 1st half, then switched to "Deonte Burnett" for most of the 2nd half. They finally started getting it right in overtime. It baffles me that these guys get paid to do a job and can't bother to learn the names of at least the starters.
