CyTwins is either a troll or so dense that he cant see Iowa has become a solid team. Does anyone on here feel confident that if we had a 10 game series against Iowa right now on a neutral court that we would win more than 5 of them? I would give us a good chance to win 6, 7 at the most.

We already got smoked by them, without Cook, when they were playing horribly early in the season, with a bunch of freshman in their first 3 weeks of college basketball.

Sounds like you do! Lol.

Have you heard of something called an upset? It is this thing where a team that isn't as good as another team beats the better team. It is called an upset because one team is clearly better than the other. Happens in college basketball a lot.

I already said Lard would be playing if he was here in the fall

With how bad ISU's front court is, why would Prohm have a player that could be better than Young keep a redshirt on?

It doesnt make sense, you play your best players and its clear that Prohm thinks Young is better than Lard or he wouldnt redshirt Lard.

Right?

So if we lose to TCU on the road is that considered an upset? In reading alot of threads this week people dont seem very confident about that game.

I would say Iowa and TCU are similiar in talent level.

You're good. You'd fit in over in the Lard thread.

People read what they want to see. I've seen plenty of people think it'll be tough and we will lose/

Nice try.

@CyTwins used this exact reasoning last year when Moss redshirted and Ellingson played. Saying Fran would be an idiot for keeping a more talented player on the bench when the Iowa backcourt could have used him last year.

Moss showed up literally a couple days before classes last fall and was not ready to play.

Not that much. The game will probably be a pick 'em game.

TCU is easily a better team than Iowa.

So you are on a CYCLONE blog, going at one of our members for some flippant remark he made about the IOWA basketball team during the season 1 freaking year ago? Dude...that's...I'm not sure what to call it. Mad obsession? Whatever it is, it certainly isn't healthy.

Couple of days before fall semester vs days before the spring semester. Hmmmm.... yeah not the same.

That is fair, but also there is a difference between showing up in August and showing up in January. August, you still practice all of fall leading up to the season. January you are coming from HS to College, in the middle of the season, with no idea how the team plays together/runs its sets/ practices. There is a big difference in their arrival date. Now if he had shown up a few days before the bball season started, that would be a better argument.

You cant be serious. Was it their 2 conference wins over the 2 worst Big 12 teams or the huge non-conference wins over powerhouses UNLV or Washington that lead you to that conclusion?

Im out on this subject, all I will say is as of today our best win was on a neutral court against a fringe NIT team, and a home win over an 7-9 range seed in Texas Tech. Yeah, we played well and have 3 losses to teams that will probably end up in the 1-4 seed range come tourney time but the problem is we lost to all of them.

Plenty of opportunities in the next 2 or 3 weeks against ranked teams, so we'll see how our resume looks at that point in time. If we lose a game on the road to either TCU or Vandy and get swept by Kansas and West Virginia we are in deep trouble.

I love how Iowa fans get one semi decent win and have to beat their chests and look to big bro for approval.

I had Iowa fans tagging me like I give two ***** who Iowa beat last night.
