Congrats, your established P5 head coach who's had his system in place at the same school for 18 years beat a first year coach badly in his second game. Way to go.

Considering the Iowa-Iowa State game this past season. After that game, I was thinking that CJ Beathard was All Big Ten and a likely top draft pick. But after seeing how much Beathard regressed this past season, I think he goes undrafted. His last game as a Hawkeye was truly horrendous.

You know how the ranking system works, right? ISU has a higher ranked class right now because they have 20 commits as opposed to Iowa's 14. Iowa's player average is 85.49 while ISU has a 83.94. That will change before signing day, but that's where it currently stands. Rhoads had a class or two ranked higher as well, but once again had a lower star rating, so not really something new.

Looking at the numbers of the last three recruiting classes, ISU has taken 78 kids to Iowa's 67. One would expect those numbers to start paying dividends pretty soon as an extra 3-4 guys a class would be helpful with landing some hidden talent.
