I'm taking my 11 year old daughter and 6 of her friends to the KU game tomorrow. I've never been to a woman's game before...any tips on cool things our group could do before/after the game that might be unique to women's games?

Any chance of autographs with players for instance?

Have fun, atmosphere is a lot different then the men's, but if the game is good the crowd will get into it.

I don't know how strict the ushers are, but they should be able to go down by the court after halftime to give the team high 5's as they come out of the locker room. If any of the girls going have Junior Cyclone Club memberships, today if they have their club card they can shoot layups on the court after the game (special promotion, this is the last time this season this will happen.)

It is Color it Cardinal day. Also, I am assuming that the FM Acro team will be the half time entertainment since they were at the MBB game last night. They are a really fun group to watch, especially since they are girls/boys around the same age as your daughter and friends.

Other than that, there are always the same game activities like flex cam, smile cam, etc. With the smaller crowd there is usually a better chance of getting on the big screen, especially if the girls are into those things. :) My 11yr old daughter chose to go to WBB today and passed on MBB last night. She goes quite often to WBB and prefers the atmosphere of the women's games.

If you are willing to stick around even after the program signing this afternoon, post-game, many players will meet family on the northeast outer concourse. Not everyone will pass through that area, but a good number will. It's a good place for kids to gather a few autographs. The players are really good about signing when they see kids with a poster and a Sharpie. ;)

We did! Girls had a blast. It was also fun that several of the girls are hawk fans yet all sported ISU gear for the game, bought game-day stickers to put on their face and really got into it. Got to meet Emily Durr after the game and all got autographs and a picture.

Excellent day at Hilton and will be making this an annual event!

Awesome! I feel the women's team does a really good job of making it a family event (from the high fives after halftime for the kids, to the autograph sessions, to the fun videos - which i wish they'd do more of). Also, if you get Junior Cyclone Club memberships for the kids, there are a few 'free' events throughout the year for them (like a shooting clinic, layups, etc.).
