Hold the University of Iowa Accountable

I'm starting to get sick of all this talk actually. Yes, something fishy sure did happen it sounds like but does it need to be disected and scrutinized as much as it has here? Let it play out, it's not going away and obviously there is more to the story that is coming out. As long as the victim does not drop the charges and this thing does go to trial justice will prevail and I am guessing some people at the U of I will be held accountable and lose their jobs over how this has been handled.

I'm actually ashamed at just how childish some of you have looked here. We have people emailing national reporters, creating petitions, "demanding" someone be held accountable, etc. I'm not a fan of the Hawks but put the rival biased aside for a second and walk a mile in their shoes and I'm sure their fans are just as upset and embarassed over this and want it cleaned up too. I haven't found a Hawk fan yet that has defended the alleged actions that have come out and I'm sure some of them see this as an opportunity to clean house and get the program cleaned up starting with the AD and coach.

Let's show some kind of compassion here and not "celebrate" this. There is a victim involved and seems like some people are more caught up into turning this into a media circus than seeing that the victim has justice served. The bigger spectacle this becomes the more personal stuff that is likely to come out of it.

I beg to differ.

If it weren't for outraged people, and ESPECIALLY internet forums like this, this would have NEVER seen the light of day.

The more bad pub this gets, the better the chances for "real justice" be visited up on a school that has a bad habit of attempting to cover up crime by their athletes.

You make this an ISU athlete, and I'm just as thermonuclear about it, probably even more so...

In the end, I would like to see a healthy rivalry between two competent schools in the greatest state in the union. And I want my state government officials and employees to be honest and forthright.

I almost forgot about this. I've never liked Stevens - on or off the field.

Now I'm reminded that I'd like someone to set him on fire - literally. I'd probably give someone money to do it.

Above is a link to a story regarding Jerramy Stevens, former University of Washington tight end. It is long but well worth the read.

Wow... I didn't even know about that story. So sick to see that Stevens wasn't even charged with a crime. And Neuheisel didn't even discipline Stevens! Well, at least the U of I football players are going to have to face a jury... although it remains to be seen if there is enough evidence left to convict them.

And I'd love to give this Raider football player a public award. I remember watching that and loving it.

As the father of 3 daughters, I'll bring this up every 5 minutes if it wakes up these dips***s who have allowed this to happen and ignore the victim. I would rather people bring it up, email the national media and have petitions out there that bring attention to this. The media obviously has their heads up the wazzoo of their bosses who have their noses buried so deep into the hawk advertising that they can't do the right thing.....exception abviously being the ICPC.

If the ICPC didn't bring this up, and there wasn't message boards that are talking about this nonstop, then the Millers & Marty & Millers are either purposely hiding behind their allegiance (JM) or are given a gag order by their bosses (M&M who owned by station airing Thug U games) and this information doesn't make it to whoever has the pair to make a decision that gets rid of this crap. If everyone keeps out of it so the coverups are successful, just exactly how does this benefit our daughters who would like to go to college and have the simple assumption they are safe on campus????

Get it out so the decision makers know they have to get it fixed....!!!!! And this is Dad of 3 girls talking, not a Cyclone fan who wants bad publicity for UofI just in case you come back with that!

Wow...Stevens just became my least favorite player ever. It's sickening to know that he went on to make millions in the NFL. Absolutely sickening.

As for Neuheisel, I can't believe that ***clown got another job. I hope he crashes and burns at UCLA.

I agree to a certain extent. However the tipping point was the mother sending the letter to the ICPC. People can get pissed all they want and make a thousand posts on the subject. Only the truth will make any difference and that is so clouded at this point I'm afraid there will never be a resolution.

After a couple of years of success at UCLA they will have something pretty bad happen to the program. I guess they are just willing to take a hit in exchange for a couple pretty good seasons.
