How many B12 jobs are going to open up?

My buddy who follows Ohio St is hoping Herman would take a job less prestigious than Texas. His thought was after Meyer hangs it up in 3-5 years, OSU could go get him. If Herman goes to Texas, that's not a job that OSU could pry him out of.

if only because kansas doesn't gaf about football.
Or maybe they found out they can't keep firing a coach every 2 years. No good coach is going to be able to turn that disaster around so soon. Beaty actually appears to be fielding a more competitive KU team in years.

If Tech fires KK, is there any chance Tech would look to hire Briles? Seems like a natural fit for Briles and Tech would be an instant player.
I just don't know if a Power 5 school touches Briles right now.

Somewhere like Houston (again), Arkansas State, Southern Miss.

We all now know about Strong, and Herman is the likely replacement. I think CKK's time at TT is done, and I think they'll try to find a "Campbell clone" to replace him. Les Miles to Baylor, or Houston? I think Houston. Baylor's coaching search will be lengthy I believe. Art Briles probably won't be a HC for a few years. The Vampire will stay at K-State one more year.

If Oregon opens, would they pay more than Texas for Herman?

Possibly. But even with Nike, Oregon is still a lot harder to win at than Texas. There should be very few schools that is easier to recruit to than Texas. Factor in the Rise of Washington and Washington State and I don't think any established coach will be looking at Oregon.

I wonder what PJ Fleck is thinking. His stock will be high. Not high enough to jump into a high major job like LSU or Texas, but better than the dregs of the Power 5 like Purdue. He could be a good fit at Texas Tech if they pulled the trigged on Kingsbury.

I don't know about that. OSU may have a shot if Herman is successful at Texas. The reason I say this is because it sounds like Texas is a high pressure job. When I say that, its about pleasing all the donors, making face time for them, doing what they want, etc. I don't know for sure, but it sounds like that kind pressure could be more than what a coach would want.

OSU seems to be less stress compared to Texas. Remember, Meyer had everything going for him at Florida before quitting due to stress. Then a year or two later ends up at OSU. I think the culture at OSU is a little less stressful than a place like Texas, while both being prestigious football schools.

I would disagree, Tresell won a national title and finished in the top ten year in and year out and people were ready to see him go. OSU is definitely on the very short list of title or bust schools and there's a lot of pressure at all those places.

I think he and Keith Richards of the Stones must use the same phlebotomist!!

OSU is not less stressful than Texas. You could make the case that Texas even takes academics more serious than OSU.

I'm surprised Strong isn't fired as of right now. I don't see anybody else going anywhere in the B12. Unless TTU has a good candidate nobody knows about. And then Baylor.

If Campbell can avg 9 wins per year and win majority of bowl games starting next season, he will be Ohio States next coach. Remember, he was courted hard to be offensive coordinator there when he became Toledo head coach. I know that is a tall order, but just saying. Ohio coaches love this guy.
