Liriano will be up soon enough I am sure. Of the Twins starters now, only Baker and Hernandez I believe have ever pitched over 200 innings in a season at any level, so there is a good chance one or more of the others will struggle the 2nd half. Then, you bring Liriano up to replace that pitcher, and maybe move that pitcher to the bullpen.
Sending Hernandez to the minors would be a cruel joke on the agent, who is the same one who is making all this fuss about Liriano. Can you imagine what Hernandez would do to that agent if he got sent down and Liriano was brought up because of pressure from the agent? lol. That would be worth the price of admission.
I think the Twins are right to bring Liriano along slowly. They rushed him out of Spring training and look what happened in his 3 starts. He is probably going to be really good, so just be patient. Next year, Slowey, Perkins, Liriano, Blackburn, and Baker. Not a bad rotation, and they will only get better I think.
