Under Armour will make MLB uniforms

I would guess this won't be a huge change for MLB. The professional sports teams for the most part don't want to screw with their identities, and most people already associate certain teams with certain uniforms. May get some funky alternates, but the standard uniforms won't change.

UA has their fans and the younger fans will eat this up. They also have a large group who are not fans. People kind of love them or hate them, as evidenced by all the previous conversations here on C.F.

I would really doubt much changes about the uniforms. People said the same thing about Nike taking over the NFL uniforms and aside from Seattle there's been almost no significant changes made.

Can you own a clothing design? If so, I would assume the team owners keep those rights regardless of manufacturer?

I like stirrup look and agree baseball uniforms are the most timeless. UA won't screw with them.

FTR I only own one piece of UA clothing. Does that make me a fuddy-duddy?

I think that MLB teams have the most control over uniform design in all of the major sports. A lot of MLB teams have classic designs and make only minor changes year to year. I don't think that UA will do anything crazy, with few exceptions, MLB uniforms have always been pretty conservative.

FTR - I own zero UA products, I have early onset grumpiness and am just not interested in their stuff. I also passed on L.A. Gear and British Knights.
