I think you overestimate Baylor's worth. Losing Baylor would not destroy the Big12. We could replace them with Steven F Austin and not miss a beat.
And it isn't the assaults that have caused folks to want to drop Baylor, it is the response to the assaults. If your leadership and fanbase responded to these at all appropriately then, while tragic for the victims, it would not have been national news. The protecting of the players and then protecting of the coach that covered it up is what caused this outrage.
I thought our response was pretty good. We fired our coach, AD, and President. Seems pretty thorough to me. Anyway, I see this is going no where. I'm out.
Added emphasis. Perhaps Baylorfan is too young to remember Dave Bliss? Or maybe baylorfan is splitting hairs since that wasn't assault, it was illegal payoffs by coaches, drug use, and that other pesky little crime...murder, right?
Or maybe women on your campus are afraid to report or know that reporting an assault will do them more harm than good.
