King will be on Lazard wherever he lines up

I bet they would have if Cook would have gotten going. Burbridge was pretty much Lazard. He was pretty good.

I don't know, I couldn't see Ferentz busting out a completely new package just for a game that doesn't involve Iowa State

Yeah, but at the same time Burbidge isnt as essential to winning for MSU as Lazard is for ISU. If Iowa takes away Burbidge, they still have LJ Scott, Cook, their defense. ISU doesnt have the fire power after Lazard.

I don't agree with that but I certainly don't expect anyone to believe me. I think Daley is close to Lazard in his ability to make plays but he needs to ball to do it. He's pretty much Bundrage. Then I think the other guys are fairly dynamic with 3 pretty explosive backs. Again, none of this has been seen because our offense, with the exception of a couple halves at the end of last year, has not been able to showcase it.

According to Marc Morehouse. That is going to be a fun matchup to watch.

It will be a good matchup, and King will get burnt a couple of times. That's the nature of that position. And that's not taking away anything from AL, who is a tremendous athlete.

And for the oil trader millionaire ISU fan (Minnesota Twins Cyclones Too Much Time on HIs Hands Guy), Iowa did change corners during the B1G against MSU, and some other times last year. Including Indiana for a couple of plays. But it's not something they generally do. They have a base they work from, no different than SS left on running plays.

OK, but they've never moved a CB to shadow a WR for an entire game like they said they would do Saturday. That's something Ferentz has never done even when he should have but he'll do anything he can to win this game

I'd take into serious consideration any comment you made about ISU football. You seem to know your stuff. Although I'm deeply concerned about Saturday's game, the issue really is lack of development on ISU's offensive line. I think we've posted aback and forth about this. There is no good reason this issue still exists at ISU. I know there was an injury this year, so this year might not be the best example, but you get what Im saying.

Let me make this easy for you. Football coaches do whatever they think will win a game, and the opposing team matters none except for their personnel, and how to scheme.

There is no reasonable person on either side of this rivalry that doesn't consider this an important game. And if any player or coach doesn't treat any game as serious, the likelihood of losing is increased exponentially.

It is only select message board posters, trolls, and the selected lower i.q. portion of fan bases that argue otherwise.

It will come as a shock to you, but even if Iowa loses nest Saturday, many of us will move forward. We are a developmental program, and based on week one, we have a long way to go. To drop a game in week two, although unpleasant, wouldn't be surprising, and many times, not alarming.

Double moves are a way to beat m/m, but you need to give the qb for the route. Smart move by iowa- "lazard isn't going to beat us- you'll need to run and throw to someone else."
I thought the OL play would've been better since manning and campbell are both OL guys. They will get better, biut i was disappointed with lack of running game.

Fair enough. I guess I just meant that MSU is a more complete team, and can rely on others, and ISU just doesnt have that yet.

I actually agree with this except that many Hawk fans will move forward. I really do think if ISU somehow does win Saturday the fan base will turn on Ferentz, especially after the contract extension today

Even if Iowa does lose to ISU this weekend, the fan reaction will probably be similar to ISU's reaction after this weekend, and I still can't find a way that Iowa is worse than 6-3 when Michigan comes to town.

I would challenge you to find the last year that there wasn't an injury on the O-line. Generally there are multiple.

Be that as it may, the problem is that teams with proper depth can absorb an injury or two at a position. ISU historically has had starters who can play at the top level, but as soon as someone comes in off the bench to give a starter a blow or because of injury the level of play drops way too much. However, based on the game last Saturday this year might not be the best example.

Nice level-headed posting, Golfer.
