****Official Class of 2017 Recruiting Thread****

I think they get McNeill. Agree with Twins that McNeill might be better that Wright. At least in terms of upside. He is a better athlete than Wright.

According to 247, Stokes has football offers from Alabama, Auburn, and Florida State, among others, and he wants to play basketball?

His brother plays in the NBA and Isaiah and his family are concerned about the long term effects of football

Makes you wonder if that will start being a trend, more young athletes choosing basketball or another sport over football. I wouldn't be surprised if the overall athleticism in football goes down over the years.

I read an article on it, forgot when. Long story short, he's worried about injuries concussions, etc so he decided to pursue basketball instead.

I think it's already started. In high income areas at least, football has basically become obsolete with younger kids. Although it's not just basketball that will benefit. Soccer, baseball, swimming, etc all should reap some rewards from football's demise.

In 15-20 years, football will face an alarming drop in the financial market place, IMO. If kids aren't playing, they won't be as inclined to shell out huge dollars for tickets, jerseys, etc.

Speaking of Fran, I noticed Corey Evans predicted Jack Nunge to Iowa. Every kid he recruits looks the exact same.

It's uncanny

Stokes' body type and style of play remind me of Demarcus Cousins. He seems to have good foot work in the post and the ability to step away and knock down midrange shots. Different than the bigs we've recently recruited but I'd like to see more of how a true big would look in our system.
