I suppose, if NDSU ended up with the majority of points, then that would make them the winner. But I maintain the opinion that I think the Hawks will win this particular match-up.

And maybe you should take off the Ferentz-colored glasses and admit that he did plat Scherff injured for a whole game and then played Ott with nagging injuries for a whole season. Both players played against ISU the week after having surgery. What coach allows that? I already attached the article, but I'm sure you already knew that. And, yes, he did ruin Ott's NFL chances.
It's no secret Scherff played on one leg against ISU. Not sure what you're digging at there. Yes, Scherff played injured. And he won the Outland and went as the #5 pick in the draft, so he did ok. As for Ott, "nagging" injuries? Yeah, lots of college players play with those. The guy had his knee wrecked in one game and was lost for the season. Then he had his elbow wrecked against ISU. What surgery did Ott have the week of the ISU game? I don't remember that.
Saying KF ruined Ott's chances of an NFL career is just ******* stupid.
Oh, I don't know. Maybe got HIT BY A CAR! But we knew even that wouldn't keep Ferentz from playing him on Super Bowl Saturday.
On the second part, of course your Hawk media would rather blame the player (although they said they were being sarcastic, in true Trump fashion) and the Big10 rather than his coach for playing him injured. All of a sudden Ferentz didn't know the seriousness of his elbow injury. Really? The whole elbow bent backwards.

Nice article you linked, basically reinforces Ott saying he was going to play no matter what as long as he could. Kind of flies in the face of you saying KF forced him out there and ruined his NFL career.

99% of players will say they'll play even if their arm or leg were falling off. I would think the coach would be more responsible to properly evaluate the injury and make a decision in the best interest of the athlete. Not in hopes of winning a game. How is it possible that the surgeon who did his tommyjohn surgery noticed all that damage, but no one else noticed it before? Who's the team doctor, Nick Riviera?
It could be a close game. Or it could be a total blowout. Or it could start off looking like it's going to be a blowout but then it gets close for a while and then it ends up being a blowout again. The only way to know for sure is to watch the game and see what happens. And I am sure we will all come back to this thread and discuss our thoughts on the game between NDSU and Iowa for several many weeks as we compare our expectations of said game with what actually happened. Gosh, I am one who is quite grateful for this engaging and informative thread!
I re-read the article. He got hit by a car, was in the hospital, and got stitches on his leg. Ferentz probably just gave him an ibuprofen on the sidelines and sent him in.
