A friend of mine in Florida has a college football draft this weekend. They have the point system set up where the ranking in the final AP poll gives 25 points for the #1 team, 24 points for the #2 team, and on down to 1 point for the #25 team. He wanted some advice so obviously I have him taking the Cyclones with his first pick. And I have no idea after that. I imagine the first teams to be picked will follow the preseason polls, but they are going to draft all 127 teams.

So I'm looking for suggestions who you think might be some sleepers that aren't in the preseason polls but could be at the end of the season. Thanks!

Nah SEC and PAC12 is the way to go. There's usually 3 teams in those conferences in the top 5, getting you more points
it's a draft so he's looking for teams that can do way better than preseason rankings. That's why I said pick a B10 team with a weak schedule that's outside the top 25.

3 (SEC) + 3 (Pac12) = 6 in the top 5. BDK math everyone!

For the record, last years final rankings top 10 included:
3 Big 10 - MSU, OSU, Iowa
2 SEC - Bama, Ole Miss
2 Big 12 - OU, TCU
1 ACC - Clemson
1 Pac 12 - Stanford
1 AAC - Houston

Both of those conferences you ******* idiot. 2014 5 in the top 10, 2013 5 in the top 10, 2012 7 in top 10, 2011 7 in the top 10

What I'm hearing so far is to stick to three conferences: SEC, Pac12 and Big10. That makes sense with the way national media tend to prop them up.

Any thoughts on G5 schools that might be in for a good season?

Also, which schools in the Preseason top 25 should he avoid picking early? Baylor might struggle. Is Tennessee really top 10? And can Herman keep Houston high enough to deserve being picked at 13 (it seems like one slip-up for a non-power5 team knocks them down farther than a team from the SEC for example)?

A buddy of mine has done a pretty good job of picking the top 25 over the last couple years. Maybe you could use his picks for reference.

yes, i'll start it up in a week and a half.

Great. Looking forward to it.

FYI, I'm working on the rules for a new prediction game related to the Big 12 conference season. Stay tuned.
