Sunday's scrimmage

We've had others. So the whole we are Iowa state line is stupid.

Yeah I know. I put that in there as a joke. The way I read it though Campos wouldn't be eligible for a medical hardship at this point. He's used a traditional redshirt (not due to injury). His injury now would have to be season ending (obviously we will know more when an official statement comes out). For a hardship (6th year) you have to have lost two years "beyond your control". He simply doesn't meet the criteria.

"Athletes must keep in mind both the five-year clock and their four seasons of competition. Even if an athlete gets a medical hardship waiver, he or she needs to have time left on their five-year clock (10-semester/15-quarter clock in Divisions II and III) to use that season.

This is problematic for athletes took a normal redshirt season or sat out due to a transfer. An athlete can generally not use a medical redshirt in those cases unless they get a clock extension or sixth year waiver. To do that the athlete show they lost two seasons outside of his or her control. The medical redshirt would be one, but the athlete would still need to show another."

It's hard but not impossible, take Case Keenum for example

2006 Redshirted
2007 played all season
2008 played all season
2009 played all season
2010 played 3 games and missed rest of season with injury
2011 played all season

Agree but definitely not something you can bank on as an absolute.

Keenum's 2006 redshirt was deemed to have been because of either a separated shoulder late in his senior year of HS, or a collarbone injury (conflicting reports). That gave him 2 missed seasons due to injury, so hello 6th year.

Didn't Tony Yelk get 6 years too?

He played the first game in 2000 (year 1), then was shelved. Nobody ever said why at the time, and then later they said he "redshirted". The only way that could happen was if they figured on a medical -- presumably due to the hip/leg issues that came to light later on in his career. Then he missed all of 2004 (year 5) with the hip flexor, which likely complicated matters. Someone must have put together a hell of an argument to get him the 6th year.

That's why every freshman that won't play should get hurt before the season starts.

So, anyone that went to the scrimmage, were you able to see anything from the OL play? Did anyone look good? Did anyone get beat badly ?
