I should have been more specific. Congrats on making one of the top three schools for a recruit that we cooled on.Thats a little premature but thanks. He isnt expected to verbal until the fall.

Its odd, IMO, with the emphasis Campbell has put on getting in state kids.
He has passed on or not offered the 2 kids with the most impressive offer lists in the 2017 class in Iowa, Van Ginkel and Martin.
As odd as it may seem, it's hard to not put faith in this staff's ability to assess and recruit.
They just don't have what it takes to play for a Matt Campbell football team. Martin will probably be a good player but just not a fit for ISU. Van Ginkel must not be very good
Based on what?
I actually CyTwins was referring to Campbell working towards a system over best athletes/players. There was a podcast that he mentioned the coaches look for certain qualities at certain positions. A player could be absolutely fantastic for some other teams, but if they don't fit the ISU system, no reason to recruit them. You're trying too hard.

Makes sense. But ISU offered Van Ginkel.
And then said no thanks after evaluating more

According to ISU's own Rivals page he still has an offer.
Right.
Alex Halsted or Paul Clark. Hmmmm wonder who I trust more
He's not lying. Doesn't mean he won't be any good, but Campbell just didn't want him.
Yeah, good question.
They are paid millions and millions and millions of dollars to do that and were able to do it before arriving in Ames. Then, they put together one of ISU's best classes in school history in ~65 days.
Then why does he still have an ISU offer?
It was ranked 53rd by Rivals and benefited in the rankings because of the high number of players they signed, 29.
They will probably end up right around the same place in this years recruiting rankings.
Any staff is going to have a tough time winning in a P5 conference if they cant break into the Top 50 in recruiting rankings.
