I spent an embarrassing amount of time yesterday trying to scale my avatar to fit.

And then I spent about 3 minutes this morning fixing it in MS Paint...

I don't know if we can "require" people to do it but I agree. Looks a lot better when folks have them.

Hey, Chris. Is there a way to make the avatar GIFs work again? My avatar used to be cool when it moved. Now it just disappoints me.

I like the avatars...especially the ones that are random, like Boxster's Snoopy avatars. If I'm scrolling to find a comment I want to re-locate, the avatars help me a lot.

Maybe make some options available if they don't want to upload an avatar, but maybe 5-10 that they can choose from?

I like this idea. ... extended further, maybe new members get a default avatar, simply the CF tornado logo. That eliminates the empty-head avatar syndrome (and it's intra-promotional).

Other custom defaults they could choose -- I-State, walking Cy, maybe a couple others.
