MLB: CC Sabathia to the Brewers

It's also being reported on Milwaukee radio. ESPN normally isn't the first to break a story.

Still not mentioned on Baseball Tonight. Olney must be on the phone as we speak.

I imagine the Cubs will be pushing hard for AJ Burnett. For their sake, I hope they don't get Randy Wolf.

I think they'll get Burnett or Bedard.

And there it is, they're still listing it as a "report" right now though.

Not sure who the Cubs may make a move for. Rumors from Chicago right now say that the Cubs have cooled off on going after A.J. Burnett. Apparently Toronto wanted too much in return. Not many others out there.

It doesn't become official until all of the paper work is done, physicals are conducted, and it is approved by the commissioner's office. It won't be official until probably tomorrow.

Dan Haren is another name being floated around as a target for the Cubs. Probably some more names will come out in the next couple weeks once teams decide they are out of the playoff race.

Not with his contract he's not, unless the Cubs decide to give up Lee, Ramirez, Fukudome and Soto.

The Diamondbacks trading Haren being owed 4 million this year, 5.5 next year and 6.75 as an option in 2010 would be, hands down, the most ******** thing to ever happen.

Ever.

The Cubs better be ready to send off a couple starters to Arizona if they think they're going to get a good, young, cheap pitcher on a first place team.

Like actually wanting prospects...which the cubs have few to none of. Many people have said that the cubs' problem is that they don't have the young talent to trade away to make a major move.

Murton, Pie, Hill, Cedeno, Patterson....

I think those are decent prospects, I think the Cubs could move all those if they wanted to.

None of those players are listed on Baseball Americas top 10 prospect list for the cubs.

They just don't have the young talent. They will probably have to give up Samardzija and the entire farm system to get a reliable starter.

That and Pie can't even put up a .300 OBP in AAA.

That being said, I wanted the Sox to try and pick up Pie this offseason, but Quentin has filled in admirably.

The Cubs have decent prospects, but no big names at all.
