Caleb Chandler commits

That makes sense. I forgot that you stop growing when you commit to a team.
 
I am guessing they didn't mean 'bigger' as in size but 'bigger' as in their higher ranked targets on their board. Bc I thought the quote actually came from Chandler saying he may get an offer after they find out about some of their bigger recruits. They already had two guards committed and they recently had an OT commit and Chandler committed to ISU soon after that. Probably realized he wasn't going to get the Georgia offer.

I would be surprised if we end over 50. My guess is we end up 35-40. We don't have enough of the high end guys to end at top 20

Iowa State would have to pull off a miracle to end up at #20. The top recruits don't usually lock in till later on, so that means the TCU, Texas, Miss St, etc will start getting more four and five star recruits, as well as, high three stars bumping their rankings up later on in the recruiting period.

I would say a good finish for the good guys this year would be 35-40, but guessing more of the 40-45 area.

Thanks for the projections guys. Personally I would be thrilled with 35-40 every year with an occasional top 30 class. With the way this staff works I feel confident that they will leave no stone unturned in all aspects of coaching. Between identifying under recruited players and excellent player development I think having top 25 talent on the field is reasonable in years to come. If the same effort in recruiting carries over to player development, game planning, etc good times are ahead for ISU.

This class is starting out very well. We have a lot of our higher rated targets committed. And have a really good shot at more.
 
There's the kick to the stones we've all been waiting for!

Hopefully he takes his officials and still feels good about ISU. Get him on campus for a game and re-seal the deal.
 
I don't like it either, but forget everything you've ever associated with the word "commitment" when it comes to CFB recruiting. It's not the same word, and the players have their reasons for committing and then reassessing.
