Game of Thrones Season 6

Easily the best show on TV by a factor of 3x. Excellent episode. Did not see the last scene coming, but that was boss awesome.

But Meereen season 6 is getting boring. Give Tyrion something to do!

In books 4 and 5 all of the characters get bogged down in snowstorms, long arduous journeys, and sometimes bogs, where everything seems to go wrong, and all hope seems lost. It's nice the show is just getting to the action. I am a big book reader in general and prefer it, because it allows for so much more character development, but man, it is nice that things are actually happening.

I could watch Emilia Clarke read a book.

Indeed. My wife asked me, last night, if I was tired of seeing Dany naked. Sometimes I'm just shocked at how little she gets me.

During the end of episode 1 with mel's scene while it was still CVH my wife goes "wow, those are some great boobs." Uhh yeah!

This was an amazing episode, so many plot points that didn't just move but vaulted forward. I have a feeling we're due for a bit of stagnation as they set up their big episode (usually the 9th) but there's still a bunch of juicy stuff left in the four episodes until then to not be too boring.

I think the 9th episode will be the northern battle episode (with the last episode this season reflecting on the casualties and Bran arriving to tell Jon that the white walkers are coming) and between now and then will be both sides gathering support.

I think the season ends with Dany getting ready to sail for westeros.

"Hey Jon! The White Walkers are coming! Oh and by the way, R+L=J. You're totally a Targaryen/Stark hybrid. Sorry my dad lied to you..."

Well he tried not to lie. He told him, "You are my blood," which is true, from a certain point of view.

The person he lied to the most was Cat. Which just shows how much he wanted to keep Lyanna's secret.

I am kind of in the same boat here. Bran finds out all of this and then does what? Tells people? Only way it makes sense is if he is part Targareon and somehow convinces Dany they should work together. I am sure it will happen at some point but it is going to take some convincing.

Anyone else notice as soon as Jon sported the man bun, he got all emo brooding. What are the show runners trying to tell us?

I think the 3ER will teach Bran "everything" and then he'll tell him to leave and find Jon/Dany/Sansa/whoever about what he has learned. Hodor and Meera will play their part then to get Bran back south.

They filmed in The Riverlands for this season, so I think Jon and Sansa may end up down there.

On the way they will go through The Neck and have a meeting with Howland Reed who can confirm what Bran tells him.

If Bran goes to anyone with his information, I would think it would be Howland not Jon. What good would telling Jon do? If Bran believes it's important for that information to get out, he needs it to come from the only person alive who was there, not from a cripple who spent too much time in a tree.

Dany was burned by Dragonfire in the books. But wounds quickly healed. Her hair was'also burned off.

Some theorize that magic is'building in the'realm and that the dragons'have boosted her natural heat resistance.

Her brother certainly wasent heathe resistant, lol.

Looking forward to the white walker scenes next week

I'll be honest. Jon became a really dull read for me in the last book or so, just because of all of the brooding and, "Ooh, what to do, what to do." I get that being strategic is good, but it came off as almost whiny.

Well he is probably related to Sansa one way or the other. At least he didn't provide a food and fashion review.:dull:

Dany's story is perpetual B.S. poor girl sold to a khal who dies shortly afterwards. Walks into fire and hatches extinct dragon babies. Shows up poor as dirt and conquers a continent. Enemies all around. Rides a dragon to safety. Captured by a hoard. Two episodes later she is commanding that hoard. This ***** has done everything but **** golden eggs.

The infatuation with her is crazy. She should have been beaten, raped, and murdered long ago. Essos is not a friendly place for poor little girls trying to transport dragon babies across vast wildernesses while begging for change. I could skip her chapters and be perfectly fine with it. I realize there are wargs and walkers and reanimated kingsguards and giants and 3 eyed ravens, but Dany's story is too over the top for me.
someone kill this *****, please.

Not sure what to say to this, except if you are hoping she gets killed, you probably ought to put the books down now and turn off the TV.

She is one of the few characters who doesn't annoy me on the show, although her chapters early in the books were unbearable. Then they got pretty important.

Or, as fate has it, she has had a lucky go at it whether it be chance or her decisions. Some people have good things happen to them, others bad. Cersei skated through problem free until last season. Sure some things defy logic but that is part of the fantasy. Not everything in the story has to be pessimistic and cruel

That's sort of the point of her story arc, though isn't it? She shouldn't have made it as far as she has, but she has. It adds to her whole "preordained" aura. That's kind of what she's all about.

I'll totally admit that GRRM has been spinning his wheels in Mereen for way too long, now. It feels like a placeholder while happenings in Westeros work themselves out. Then when he's ready, George will have her come home.

I haven't been a huge fan of Dany's story, but that scene was bad ***. I'm kind of curious what her next conflict will be. GRRM would have her spend 5 years getting the Dothraki horde to the sea and another 5 getting them boats.
