Hallice is transferring

He never lived up to expectations here. For much of the season he was a liability on the court. Can't say that he didn't have the opportunity to prove himself. When Naz shut it down, there was a ton of minutes for the taking. We had no depth and he couldn't take advantage of it. This year, he was screwed without some huge improvement on his part. Monte, Naz, Matt, and Burton are all significantly better than him. It is possible that Babb, Jackson, and Long all are better than him too.
Prohm pretty much said that Babb would have played over HC of he was eligible last season.

Yeah, but if he couldn't take any minutes from Monte this year he probably wasn't going to take many next year either.

At one point we thought Monte might make the jump (not recently)... then Jackson seemed to be wavering on his commitment...so there might have been back up minutes. Definitely not now that both of them will be here.

I guess this just comes as a surprise to me given he has already burned his redshirt. I know he had some issues...and was benched for a bit. Guess there's more under the surface.

I think this is along the same lines as Ashton leaving, Cooke isn't an awful player but he's stuck behind 3 proven big 12 commodities and would be competing with the new guys for PT. At best this year, he would have been the 4th guard to see the floor, at worst, he could have been the 7th (last). This hurts for next year but shouldn't have much of an impact on this years team. I wish him nothing but the best.

Cooke still has one of the prettiest shots around.

Anyone that's not a 5th year Sr. is a transfer possibility.

I've heard from some people close to the program that he'll probably go JUCO. Call it blind speculation if you want.

He could go juco, play next year in a large role, and then position himself to pick a team that has room for a guard to play one year in 17-18. Would be smart. If he transfers D1 he would have to sit out and guess right now that that team will have playing time available in 17-18.

That would put him at four colleges in four years though

So starting 5 (assuming Malou is in)

Morris, Long, Thomas, Burton, Malou

Next 3 in are Jackson, Babb, Lard? Wonder if Carter, J. Long, or Young can grab some minutes as well. Feel like there is a redshirt in there somewhere.

Malou is a long way off from playing..........

Since Cooke has completed two years of eligibility I don't think he can go juco.

Is that a rule? I didnt think so looking at this. Just that Cooke would need to graduate from the juco next year (which shouldn't be an issue if his OSU and ISU credits transfer) in order to play again at D1 in 17-18. I would assume that Cooke would need to take a fifth year as a non-athlete in 18-19 to get a bachelor's degree if he did this juco/D1 thing but I don't know if that is true and it has no impact on his next two years of basketball so not relevant

I was taking about Ernst in my post, not Cooke. Cooke will have to sit out next year where every he goes.
