I was always very impressed with Cooke's defense though. Good luck to him wherever he goes.

Now, if we can replace him with a "big", then I think it's an overall plus for this team. We had way too many guards for the minutes available, and this will help that.

That could be the explanation. He was going to be taken off scholarship so he transferred to not have to pay his way.

I liked his defensive intensity and passing, but I'd say it's overboard to say they will be missed. The game moved a little too quickly for him, but I think he needs the Matt Thomas treatment, where he just gets to go play for long stretches. He could be a hell of a player for a mid major, but also could be a factor at the P5 level as well, especially with another year of development.

I'm guessing he was gone regardless. I don't think anyone ever though Jackson was going to not be at Iowa State either
