***Official 2016 Transfer Thread***

Matt's proven to be a great transfer recruiter, and he's signed a couple of stud HS kids for St. John's too. He will never have to worry about job security going forward, because his track record would suggest he's a very good recruiter.

Someone got the Donovan Jackson thread closed but I thought it was worth mentioning monte tweeted he was having dinner with him and dj retweeted with some hand sign emoji. Take it as a positive sign he'll be with ISU

Certainly helps Matt right now that they suck and can guarantee starts.

Matt is great at selling for a short period and goes all in, until you get to know him and realize he is kind of full of ****. Makes for perfect transfer recruiter

He definitely knows how to recruit transfers. He has to have signed the most transfers of any assistant coach in the country over the last several years (comment made without any actual research.)

And he's not done yet for this offseason.

Jordan Cornish reopened his recruitment. I also noticed him and Prohm just started following each other on Twitter. I'm also aware this will be exciting to no one on here.

solid catch. If we have scholarship available, I would be pleased with this addition. ISU is going to need guards in 17-18 after everyone graduates.

I will take this to mean Jackson is not coming to ISU and commence freaking out for no reason....

not a transfer but still good info. ISU had really backed off the last few weeks though.

What makes you say that? I don't have any idea who the staff is prioritizing on that short a timeframe.

Alex Halsted tweeted that we backed off in the last month

Some actual news linked to Iowa State. Former UNLV shooting guard just decommited from Cal, 6'6" with a good outside shot.

UNLV transfer Jordan Cornish told @CBSSports he's considering Memphis, Iowa State, Houston, Butler, Arkansas, & Grand Canyon. No visits set.

If you look at Cornish's freshman year it looks like he has some potential and he has some size so he could play the 3/4 for ISU. Interesting though because that would suggest there is someone else leaving.

We could definitely use a 3 in 2017 after Burton, Bowie and Thomas are gone, but to your point it could signal that Malou is looking bad because otherwise taking a sit out transfer would seem to be difficult. I'm assuming this would be in addition to Holden.

It could confirm Malou is gone. And I still haven't seen any posters respond further to their hints that we will see a "surprise" player transfer (they even said it would be this week). Morris/Long/Thomas/Burton being Seniors would have no relevance to a sit-out transfer, other than opening a scholarship. So the only guards that Cornish could potentially replace for 2017/18 would be Cooke or Weiler-Babb.

Who knows. Hoping our roster is settled by the first of June, but with how little things have played out so far, at least publicly, it could be awhile.
