If she wins gold she will be doing all the major talk shows, hosting SNL, cameos on TV shows, Wheaties box, etc... She is much more attractive then other gold medal winning gymnasts so her fame will take off.
Yes, I have seen Ellen, MrsBrianHos watches it in the evening when I am running around the house.

Rivals High - Shawn Johnson: America's next great gymnast

 ~GO SHAWN!!
Now if we can get Jay Ronayne to recruit her after she's done diddling around in the Olympics. I mean, after all, you're not accomplished until you're a Cyclone...
You know, I was actually wondering about this while watching the Olympic trials. Do elite Olympic calibur gymnists typically go on to compete on college teams, or is that just such a step down that it doesn't happen? Most of these girls aren't yet college age, and I can't imagine putting that much time and energy into something and walk away at 16 years old, but short of going on to a college team, I'm not sure what other competitive options they have, unless they have a shot to repeat at the Olympics.
She can't participate in gymnastics in college - she's taken a lot of corporate gifts and things already and would therefor not be eligible as an amateur.
She has a bunch of sponsorships and can no longer do any amatuer competitions (i.e. college)
I don't know if it ever happens anymore where an athlete is actually an amateur in the Olympics
