Iowa game at Kinnick under the lights?

I believe the correct response is "Shut your ***** mouth". Most people I know have fun with the week, and it gets people who don't pay much attention to sports to pay attention for one week.

That's exactly what I don't like about it. Everyone who doesn't even care about the game shows up, from both sides. I think someone said in Ames last year, well over 15,000 people showed up that didn't even have tickets to the game.

It's just one big drunkfest party to most of the people there. It's not about football at all. Drunken people p*ssing on themselves, puking, passing out, getting in fights, yelling vulgar things at one another, throwing things at one another, etc, etc, etc.

Not that enjoyable for me at all, but that's just me. I've been over the partying scene for quite a while now.

One year in Ames it was a morning kick off and we were going to our seats and a woman puked right on our seats right before we go to them.

Bad news: she was wearing Cyclone gear.

Good news: she puked on my buddy's seat rather than mine. He is a hawk fan.

Early kickoff will not stop stupidity. Many people will drink all night if it is an early kickoff. We did too that year.

Party!!

I don't mind tailgating in Ames, it's not bad, just kind of a boring set up being in a massive lot. And I can get that in I.C. if I want at Finkbine Commuter Lot. I.C. just has more fun options.

Yeah that big lot tailgating sucks. I'd rather pay some dude to park in his back yard.

Can't believe people don't like that it's a night game!? I think it's great

The game itself being at night is great. I enjoy watching games at night.

It's the 12 hours of drinking time before the game that makes night games suck so bad.

The people that are going to get stupid drunk, are going to do so whether it's an afternoon, or night game.

True, however a night game will guarantee longer times for tailgating and will get more drunks instead of an earlier game.

I get why people are concerned with this game. It seemed of all of the fan horror stories I've heard of ISU @ UofI games, most were on the 2002 night game.

I'm guessing a lot of that is because of how that game played out. There's the horror stories before games, but those happen every year.

Hawkeye fans are going to start tailgating for this game on Thursday so it doesn't really matter when the kickoff is IMO

Don't know that I'd call it Campbell's SuperBowl, but yes, easily one of the biggest on his schedule, first time in Kinnick and all.

My source told me Campbell is starting TCU prep Sept 4th. Like the fans he doesn't care about a meaningless non conference game and wants to focus on competing it one of the top conferences in college football.

We all know KF already has the ISU posters up in the football building and the ISU fight song ready to go for August.

Haha. You're trying too hard.

This week, photos of Iowa State players carting the trophy — or what was left of the makeshift trophy that was hurriedly put together after fans loudly rejected a Cy-Hawk remake — are plastered on the walls as the Hawkeyes head to their locker room.

“Seeing all that stuff, the trophy case, the pictures and the posters with Cyclone State all over them, it brings you back to last year and how we didn’t do the things we needed to do to win,” quarterback James Vandenberg said.
“This is our first chance to win a trophy back, and we’re looking forward to it. That’s been our focus this off season”
