Iowa game at Kinnick under the lights?

I don't mind tailgating in Ames, it's not bad, just kind of a boring set up being in a massive lot. And I can get that in I.C. if I want at Finkbine Commuter Lot. I.C. just has more fun options.

Better vendors, right?

Some of you are incredibly picky about tailgating. I like ISU's layout better, but some of you are acting like IC is incapable of providing an enjoyable tailgating experience.

I've never had a bad time tailgating anywhere, because it involves friends, football, and alcohol, and those are three pretty damn good things.

Side note, having this game at night would be a terrible idea. Just asking for trouble.

It was 24-7, Einstein, but don't let the facts get in the way of your masturbatory fantasy.

Chalk me up as being in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp. Morehouse is a great writer but I seriously doubt that his sources on this would be better than anyone else's. It's been "rumored" to be a night game almost every year that I can remember.

Also, if Michigan is a night game, the odds of a second one happening go down dramatically. The B1G slate the weekend of the CyHawk game is pretty weak as I recall, so ABC may want it for the 2:30 window again. A night game would almost certainly be on BTN only.

Big effing deal. I didn't google the results, but knew it was a 3-score deficit.

The douchebaggery on the Iowa sideline, in the student section, was hilarious toward halftime of the 2002 game. The dancing, high-fiving, the drunks in the stands, the arrogant ex-coach in the radio booth, the Channel 9 guys running around the sidelines like kids wetting their pants.

ISU just took Florida State to the wire, so I was hopeful ISU would come back.

In addtion, the a-holes on the Hawkeye message boards declaring Seneca Wallace would be destroyed by Bob Sanders.

We know how that went down

ISU RB Hiawatha Rutland ran over Sanders and took him out of the game---and Bob was later seen on the bench CRYING on national TV

look at the tape Einstein.

ABC's Michele Tafoya on the sideline in front of a weeping Bob Sanders.

It still amazes me just how arrogant and egotistical some Iowa fans can be. No wonder they are so hated over there.

This is the biggest reason I can't root for them outside of when they play ISU. I don't mind their players or coaches, or their colors, or their uniforms, or their stadium, none of that stuff.... it's just their arrogant fans. They are so delusional. And winning a few games only makes it 10 times worse.

Jamby, I think you can be forgiven for having a 23-3 score sticking in your brain.

great to see the rivalry has not died along with back and forth BS that in the end means nothing.... It is really too bad this thread died in the process......

It has routinely been mentioned in different publications and lists of some of the best tailgating in the country.

Fact.

Many members of other fanbases comment on how much they enjoy the tailgating in Iowa City.

Fact.

The space crunch has gotten worse over the years, but no, parking is not nearly gone. I park right by the stadium, and I'm a not a donor to the university.

Care to provide any links to support your facts.

thanks in advance.

Iowa State has a better tailgating setup, no question. I like Iowa's as well, but prefer ISU's. ISU's is a lot like Indiana's where it's a really wide open area, as opposed to a bunch of satellite tailgating spots.

Can someone explain to me why being a night game would end the series?

Because Hawk fans are trash and can't control themselves. They're so used to 11 am games they pound their Hawkeye vodka too early, **** themselves and pass out, creating a terrible atmosphere.

I said last year, professor.

Same thing with Iowa MBB SOS, computer ranking. They beat Michigan St twice when the Spartans were short-handed, and mich st stayed high in the polls all season...Iowa milked those two victories all season

This game should NEVER be at night. I understand that TV makes all the decisions on this though. Neither Iowa or ISU has any say one way or the other.

I agree though, this might finally put an end to this series, which would be fine with me. It should be a great, fun, instate rivalry game, but it just isn't that. It's far from that. It's generally just pure hatred coming from both sides, and nothing really good comes from it at all.

The sooner this series ends the better IMO. And if they play this thing at night this year, that might just be enough to do it. The true football fans on both sides don't really want this thing to continue. It's not an enjoyable game to attend anymore for true football fans. For drunken idiots that don't care about football, sure, it's a great thing. Not so much for the rest of us.

I believe the correct response is "Shut your ***** mouth". Most people I know have fun with the week, and it gets people who don't pay much attention to sports to pay attention for one week.
