Of course there are things to be reviewed, just like Naz and Ernst, and several others every year throughout college sports. But people generally have an idea if they will get it. Lard was the least likely, and even now it's starting to sound like a go.

We got guys like Warren and Troy Davis among others because no one thought they would be eligible.

Ok. . . Think cj bruton. I don't know if you are old enough to remember him so if not Google it. Don't know if that's it, but that's probably the stuff they are looking at.

Who is looking at it? Where's the legitimate discussion there's a concern?

For example, there was a point CW talked about his concerns with Lard qualifying, so as I've said, I get that. Where's the talk about it with Malou?

There's no much talk because the staff knows they will get him cleared. But of course the NCAA has to review it.

The ncaa has to review pretty much everything. That's what I'm saying. Other than the Doomsdayers on this board, there's no one else saying there's major questions about Malou's eligibility.

Also, Bruton was ruled ineligible because he played for the Australian National Team, not because he went to school in Australia.

This has been discussed by legit sources on other sites with direct info from coaches. They feel confident they can get Malou cleared but there is a process that compliance is actively managing.

I think the issue stems from Malou going to multiple prep schools in Australia and the US. He has 5 years to play 4 seasons so if any of his time at prep school is viewed as not being primary school, there could be a problem as to how much eligibility still remains.

It's a little murky because of the time at a foreign prep school and ABCD which was a total sham school.

I still would bet he will make it, but there is more to it than just getting his AA, which is the original point.

One of those things. Got it.

Sounds like he needs to get the clearance pretty much every other international student needs, but easier since he'll have his AA.

I'll take it.

An update on Malou or Chris weighing in with what he's hearing would be wonderful.

Several players on Burton's Australian team accepted money to play (not Burton). NCAA ruled the team to be "professional" and, therefore, Burton was deemed ineligible.

I'm basing it off of my quick search on wiki, since it happened about 20 years ago.

Trying to remember...wasn't it something like he played on the same team with some Australian professional players?

Whatever it was I remember it being a raw deal for him...didn't really do anything wrong.

Wiki says he was on it. Maybe he was an alternate that didn't actually play but was still disqualified? Or maybe Wiki is just wrong.

Lard I get, as there has been plenty of things out there saying he's a risk to not qualify academically.

But there is nothing other than a handful of sky is always falling posters on here that indicate Malou won't qualify, assuming he graduates from community college, which all signs have indicated he will.

As indicated above there is a reason why Malou wasn't in my projected depth chart. Long way to go before he is cleared by the NCAA and him declaring for the draft just proves how uncertain his future at Iowa State actually is. But of course I'm one of the handful of the "sky is falling posters" on here.

Do your research and look at people's posting history before you make those types of generic comments.

Did you only apply for one college or did you have other options lined up for if that one choice didn't work out?

This is me not giving a crap about depth charts in April.
