On to Football Season

And Iowa has a top 15 class right now. Doesn't mean they're going to finish there. Just means the big dogs haven't signed as many guys yet.

Which is why I'm not hot and bothered where ISU is at right now, just happy with the direction. Even though a few of Iowa's better recruits will decommit after the 8-5 season this year I'd still be happy as an Iowa fan right now

Not with this schedule and CJB. Find out today about the stud RB from Texas who's announcing. He's had Iowa his #1 for awhile but I have a feeling he'll pick Michigan.

Iowa always does well with high expectations so I'm sure this season will be no different.

If he doesn't pick Michigan today I'm sure he will before signing day.

It doesn't even matter. At this time of year, all that matters is that your coach wants them. A staff isn't going to take a commitment from a player that they think is a scrub...not this time of year. You don't take commits from Plan B or C kids in April. Iowa got commits from Cole Banwart and Austin Schulte last June. They didn't require other P5 offers to validate taking those kids. In fact, neither one of those two even ended up with a G5 offer. When it comes down to it, either your staff is good at evaluating and developing talent or they are not. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Especially not idiots who feel the need to rain on the parade of fans who are excited about a recruiting class.

Exactly. Good staffs identify who they want and go get them. When you trust your own evaluations you don't care if anyone else offers. As a coach you actually hope NOBODY else offers, and you get the kids you want because you know they are going to be good.

This. I know Fran was pretty happy when he found out Coe wasn't going to offer Bohannon at the 11th hour

It has to really bother you that iowa is closer to ISU's level than actual good football programs.

Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, TCU, Oregon, Georgia, LSU, TX, Florida, USC, Virginia Tech, and Iowa.. Those are the teams with at least 5 AP top 10 finishes since 2000.

ISU has never finished in the top 10.. they've finished ranked in the AP top 25 just twice in the history of the program.

Iowa has one top 10 finish this decade and it was because of their schedule. Iowa does have a better football program than Iowa State though

I thought you wanted to get back on topic, something about Ott I believe?

Careful there. I know that stud OL recruit you just landed out of Illinois had his best offers from the Ivies, but I don't think Dartmouth offered him yet.

When you're a program like Iowa State Football/Iowa Basketball you just have to take what you can get and hope it pans out

What would happen if CJB got injured enough where he couldn't play? He was dang close last year. And if you played respectable opponents a 50% CJB wouldn't have won the games you did.

How are your oil royalty checks doing Cy Twins? I'm a believer you're a huge oil guy on the interwebz. That's why you answer my fundamental and technical questions.

What's revealing, is that it is debatable about which you know less about, IOwa football, Iowa basketball, ISU football, ISU basketball or the oil business you claim to be involved in.

Footbal season is near. Earned Income Tax Credit Day is almost over. Be happy, we're going to make America Great Again!

Tax cut for CyTwin on the way Baby! 10 percenter.

Hey, Hey! Hey, Hey! Raise the Roof! Raise the Roof!

Well, Iowa would have lost to ISU last year for sure without CJB. So I would guess they would have gone about 8-4 or something without CJB since ISU was better than probably 8 teams on Iowa's schedule. Yes, that's how bad Iowa's schedule was folks.

You guys really try too hard- whatever helps you cope with ISU football. Lol
