NBA: Pacers trade O'Neal for TJ Ford

This really changes their draft now...they won't take DJ Augustin or Russell Westbrook, probably a big now. I hope Kevin Love is still on the board, but I would love Anthony Randolph too.
BTW, I don't like this trade..but Toronto is going to be killer with Chris Bosh and Jermaine, and Bargnini.
 
I was just looking at Indiana Pacer boards and they think Tinsley's contract is going to be bought out. If that happens I hope Jamaal can go back to New York and thrive in D'antoni's offense.
 
Well I guess im glad i didnt buy that Tinsley Pacers jersey. Theres still room for him on the team, but his minutes will go down if he doesnt get moved.

Agreed...if (When) New York gets Lebron in '10, that would really make Lebron's job a lot easier.

If Anthony Randolph is drafted that high than the Pacers would be idiots
 
I am a huge Pacers fan and I love the trade becuase I think Jermaine is out of his prime and his knee will pry be hurt for a long while...I will be sad to see Tinsley leave because when the pacers traded from him on draft day, it was the best day of my life, but the Pacers need a change and Tinsley will be fine with a new team!
 
Ford hasn't been the poster boy for health either. In his 4 years his games played:

I like JT but his off the court messes and injury problems don't make him a good fit as a starter right now. He's only played in 70+ games 3 out of 7 seasons, the other 4 seasons an average of 43 games a season. Not good...
 
I think the trade will work out for both. Toronto did fine last year with several guards filling in for Ford while he was injured. Ford is also one more bad head injury from retirement. Tinsley has been very unreliable at the PG position for Indiana. This gives the Pacers 2 PG who together may pieve together a whole season. I do think O'Neal and Bosh will be a force to mess with in Toronto. Toronto has some nice complimentary pieces, and should be a decent team in 08-09.
 
I think Anthony Randolph will end up being the suprise player in this draft...IMO, the Pacers will take him at #17, and the best player on the board at #11.
