On to Football Season

The future "all-pro" Dlineman might not get drafted.

Wouldn't be too surprising given the seriousness of his injuries, lack of senior year film, not being able to compete at combine, no agent, etc. He'll get onto a roster, once he's fully healthy and able to compete at 100% he'll do well, maybe even all-pro like you think. Iowa's reputation among the best for producing NFL talent should help overcome a lot of the obstacles he's had to deal with.

Plus going against weak competition is going to hurt him. Hard to evaluate his film when you consider who it's against. That's why missing the combine really screwed him because he could have put up some good numbers to overcome it

Hopefully with the new coach ISU can begin turning things around and it won't be as much of an issue moving ahead.

According to Sagarin ISU was the 5th toughest regular season game on Iowa's schedule last year, and that was with Paul Rhoads as head coach. So yeah, considering Iowa gets to play soft schedules year in and year out it's probably going to hurt Ott's draft status some

LOL, he was never that good to begin with. UFA and probably cut.

Haha, keep it up. Iowa continues to send plenty of guys to the NFL, so apparently those organizations aren't as clued in as you are on the 'weak schedule' angle.

Just be happy that ISU may turn things around. From the sounds of it you guys are on fire* with 2017 recruiting.

That's why the combine is such a big deal for players like Brandon Scherff, David Johnson, Drew Ott, etc.

The 'senior film" shows injury and the fact he's sort of a tweener for NFL play.

I'll give you that one. Sagarin had iowa and isu as virtually even in his final bball rankings, so we know its accurate.

Never heard of anyone using Sagarin for basketball. He's definitely known for his football ratings

Never heard of anyone using Sagarin for football, his football and basketball rankings are a joke. You rightfully mock his BB stuff, and you need to stop looking so stupid and desperate and using his football stuff.

Just a little FYI there were 6 polls that were used back in the BCS days and ISU was ranked the following in them last year:

Anderson #85
Billingsley#86
Matrix #88
Massey #73
Wolfe #77
Sagarin #67

There is a reason that computers are no longer involved in the CFP, and that is because they are a joke. All of these services have the exact same data, but they come up with different ratings.

It's used all the time on here Hawk fan. Point still stands that Ott's draft position could be hurt since he was going against lower competition.

Everyone knows the answer to that.
