NFL: Rams trade for 1st pick

Wow that is an awful trade for the Rams. Who is available in this draft that you have to trade that much just to be first?

They must really like one player because this trade seems so silly considering there is very little order in the top 15 among all the mocks.

TRADE BY NUMBERS
Titans receive from Rams:
1st round pick (15 overall)
2nd round pick (43)
2nd round pick (45)
3rd round pick (76)
1st round pick in 2017
3rd round pick in 2017

Rams receive from Titans:
1st round pick (1 overall)
4th round pick (113)
6th round pick (177)

Rams gave up a lot.

Wow. That is a a lot to draft someone who isn't a sure-fire franchise QB (like an Andrew Luck). Have a feeling we may see this included in worst trades of all time list. Similar to what the Redskins did to move up and get RGIII.

Man this is a ton to give up for potentially Carson Wentz. I think Wentz eventually could be pretty good but that seems dang risky to put all your eggs in that basket.

This seems just like the trade that brought RGIII to Washington, obviously we can expect them to draft two QB's with the second one eventually being the starter.

Awful trade IMO. Those 2 second round picks are huge gets. You can literally get someone with the capabilities of Kelechi Osemele at that point.

I don't get that trade at all.

Wow, this seems like way too much to give up for the QB's that are available. If there were a can't miss prospect like a Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck out there, then maybe, but this year's crop of quarterbacks doesn't seem worth it. Not for the price the Rams are paying.

Is Mike Lynn in St. Louis? This feels Herschel Walker-esque.

This. The Rams have far more holes on their roster than just at QB. This feels like a move driven by marketing for the recent relocation to LA, rather than a smart football move. They want to get a face for the franchise. Someone that will sell jerseys in SoCal.

Re: Titans trade No. 1 pick

To the Rams. Now the question is which QB are the Rams taking- Wentz or Goff?

Its a lot to give up but there is no way the Rams were going to open in LA with Case Keenam as the quarterback. Hollywood wouldn't allow it.
My guess is Goff, from Cal and is more ready to start day one. Wentz may have more potential but needs some time to transition from No. Dak.

Flip side, you've got to be giddy if you are a Titans fan.

This could set them up for quite a while. They're going to have 6 picks in the top 76 this year. That should be 6 players that you expect to get playing time right away, plus an extra 1st and 3rd in 2017.

And what was the cost? Laremy Tunsil? A good tackle prospect to be sure, but compared with the picks they received? no brainer. That's how you rebuild a roster.
