OT - Starbucks Plunder

If you buy Starbucks over-priced coffee you already are getting gouged and deserve to be.
Do you also yell at people to get off your lawn and reminisce about the days of having to walk 3 miles in a blizzard to get to and from school?

Some people enjoy Starbucks and their coffee...

First the color of the cups, now the rewards program. The disdain they have for their customers is hitting epic levels. Next thing you know, they are going to start charging exorbitant prices for their goods and setting out tip jars for their baristas. Maybe even name the sizes of their drinks something pretentious.

Those are some pretty Venti sized ideas there.

I really don't mind Starbucks. They are a business that has done well and developed a good following. What cracks me up is the "outrage" by some of their customers when something like this occurs. They don't even have to offer a rewards program.

I really am happy they changed it. No longer do I have to stand behind someone who has thever batista ring up every item they order as'a separate purchase so they get more rewards. Now the system is based on how much you spend, not how many purchases you make. Makes sense to me that if I buy coffee for a group and spend $40 I get more rewards than someone who buys a small coffee. Watch, Panerai will switch back to $$$ versus purchases too as the same crap is happening there. "Ring us up separately so we get double rewards....

See now I'm jealous. My Mr Coffee on my counter has no rewards program at all. Don't get me started about the lack of app. I might as well be throwing money away without the rewards.

Rewards cut in half and start over. The mega corporations are gouging the little guy. Read the comments. http://time.com/4290598/starbucks-rewards-program/

There's a news anchor in Milwaukee (big time Starbucks drinker) that did the math on this - the difference in what you have to spend between the old and new rewards programs to get the free coffee is something like $2.50 total.

Out to screw you, I tell ya (well, any more than they already are - and yet I drink anyway)...

I much prefer Friedrich's to Starbucks. I prefer Zanzibar's to everything in the Des Moines area, but it's pretty far out of the way for me.
