If this is the case I just hope it takes him into next year before he gets it fixed. Hopefully by that time Iowa has moved on or we have a good enough relationship

Hopefully in the end he understands that ISU and coach Campbell put their trust in him before anyone else did and he lives up to his commitment. But I've heard that he would like to go to Iowa if they offered.
Hopefully Vance gets qualified. I have heard he is very upset that he hasn't gotten other offers. This only helps our position as the staff can be in his corner, telling him they believe in him. Others aren't going to offer until he proves to them he can get his academics in order, and we are getting a jump on those schools.
I understand your stance, and it makes some sense. Personally, if I was a coach, I would tell the kid he'll get his offer when his grades are better and see how he responds to the challenge.
You don't have to be even marginally intelligent to pass high school courses. If a kid is failing I see it as an effort issue, which would be a huge red flag for me as a coach.
Was he the kid that attended Iowa's jr day but left after lunch? He was asked directly if an Iowa offer would impact his decision he said no, that he was 100% committed to ISU. There was a link on here somewhere in the past few days.
That's what he says now, when he doesn't have an offer from Iowa. I would imagine that view could change if he got one.

It would be impossible to find an Iowa kid on ISUs roster that was less comparable to this.
I would normally agree with this, and it is the ONLY reason he doesn't have an offer from Iowa and other schools frankly is because he is a qualifying risk. It really doesn't make any sense to spend time and resources on a kid who isn't qualified to make it into school at that time. There are always exceptions though, and I think frankly the only shot we had/have at him was to be the first to offer, and stick with him. If he doesn't make it academic wise, oh well it was a risk that was taken. If he does make it academic wise, well now at least we have a shot at him whereas if we waited along with all the other schools, we have no shot at him at all.
Lazard is a legacy, that makes a big difference. If Iowa offers Vance will consider it. If other Power 5 programs offer, Vance will consider those as well. He WANTS other offers, and is pretty ****** off that he isn't getting them at this point. Hopefully this works to our advantage, but who knows with a 18 year old kid?
Well saying publicly that an offer wouldn't change his mind is not the smartest way to get one. Is he using reverse psychology?

Seems pretty committed. Obviously things can change. But no vague answers about keeping options open or anything
Mmm, wait a sec. He's an eastern Iowa kid, but for what, just a couple of years? Did he not arrive in Iowa only recently from the South? If this is correct, he did not grow up an ugheye and therefore cannot have an umbilical cord connection to the ughs.

Let's hope we hang with him. CR Washington an extremely pro-Hawkeye school throughout the athletic and academic depts. That fact we have one redshirt freshman on our roster from there is surprising enough.
Two guys from CRW, though. Grayshirt Landon Akers, WR, is in spring football on a full ride. If we've got two, we can get more.
Peter Nank 6'6 270 from Dowling has a Miami Ohio offer. He's on radar of IA and ISU and I would imagine with good camps this summer he will add to offers.
When you, or anyone else, talk about having good camps, what type of camps are you referring to? Rivals? Nike? Or camps at specific colleges they are hoping to get an offer from.
Forgive me for my ignorance, I know a bit about BB recruiting but not so much about football.
