Packers interested in Jason Taylor

As a Dolphins fan, I also say, "Yes please." I love Taylor, he's probably my favorite player, but it's time for him to move on and join a contender. Plus, the Fins need draft picks.

why would we need another defensive end? we already have jenkins, kampman, and KGB.

According to the Journal Sentinel, the Packers would agree to a deal only if Taylor backs down on his desire to play just one more season. The Dolphins were seeking a first-round pick in exchange for Taylor before the draft, but a source told the Journal Sentinel that the Dolphins may be willing to deal the 2006 NFL Defensive Player of the Year now for a second-round pick.

I'd be very happy with a 2nd rounder and maybe a later conditional pick based on performance.

KGB is coming off of knee surgery. Also, we dealt Corey Williams (7 sacks in '07) to the Browns.

And, are you telling me you wouldn't like to have a pro bowl DE on the team???

no, i would love it, i actually didn't even know KGB had surgery. if we made that trade we would definitely be super bowl contenders next year.

packers should give up a 3rd with abdul hodge and deshawn wynn for taylor.

I think the Tuna is a lot more interested in draft picks than he is players. The man likes to draft.

With Favre gone, KGB is the highest-paid player on the team, and I don't think his play has been reflective of that kind of salary There's going to be some issues with free agency upcoming, unless TT does some work.

Last year is 2008:

Mark Tauscher (he's getting old, do they want to spend the money?)
Brady Poppinga (has been an adequate starter)
Couple other role players in there...

Last year is 2009:

KGB
Aaron Kampman (they're not going to be able to keep both...who ya' got?)
Chad Clifton
Brandon Chillar (one-year deal)
Ryan Pickett
Aaron Rodgers
Nick Collins
Tracy White
Daryn Colledge
Greg Jennings
Jason Spitz
Junius Coston
Johnny Jolly

If you can get Taylor to play two years or more, you can cut KGB, keep Kampman, move Jenkins back inside to replace Pickett (who's also getting old), and save some of the other starters.

John Clayton was on ESPN today saying that he doesn't think the deal will get done. Seeing how much money the Packers have to play with after Favre's departure (even after they give a hefty payday to Ryan Grant), Taylor could make some serious bank with the Pack and actually be on a contender.
