Walking Dead

Random dude pulls one over on you and drives away with your truck o' stuff. You chase him down on foot for lord knows how far, jump him, get the truck back, and tie him up on the road. As you pull away with the truck, you don't look in the rearview mirror and notice that he's not in the road anymore? Rick and Daryl should be demoted to gardening duty immediately.

Yeah, it was a bit implausible, although entertaining.

Speaking of implausible, how about this new guy himself? He manages to untie himself, somehow get on top of the truck, not suffer any injuries after Rick slams on the brakes and sends him bouncing off to about a fifteen foot fall to the ground, and then, and then goes traipsing about while being chased by Darryl without even the slightest limp, only to knocked out by the door. My new nickname for him is Supernatural Ninja Jesus.

Yep, especially for those two. It was just lazy writing there I felt.

Ruck didn't waste much time after Jessie dying just a few weeks before.

During a Zombie Apocalypse it is ok to move on quickly.

I was really happy they moved on from Jessie and those two kids of her's. An unnecessary plot when they have so much more than can spend time on.

To each their own, but I personally really don't understand all the Jessie hate in this thread. I found her to be a likeable character who showed some real development during her brief arc. I even think people on here are being really unfair to Sam as well (because a kid with an abusive father living in an isolated community surrounded by zombies isn't going to be a little weird and awkward? And yes, I do realize I'm talking about fictional characters here). I do get why people didn't care for the emo, murderous teenage son.

Anyway, I like the introduction of the new characters, even if they don't last for long. I think this show wouldn't be nearly as good or interesting if it just focused on the core cast of survivors.

It makes sense. Michone is good looking and has what it takes to not be eaten by walkers. In the world they live in that is all they really need to look for. Unless they want a one night stand. Then you wouldn't want the "not get eaten by walkers" skills.

I was surprised by the Rick-Michonne development this episode, but in retrospect it seems obvious that they would get together. I like it.

Overall, good episode, a little bit lighter tone which was nice. I enjoyed the Rick-Darryl road trip fun. Apparently Jesus is some kinda Houdini-Ninja. My first thought is he was a spy for Negan's group, but by the end of the episode I have a different vibe, seems like he'll be a good character who will be around for awhile. And they also spent some time developing Spencer - I thought he would be walker food by now, looks like he could last awhile.

Last week about 10 people take on 1000s of walkers...and all 10 survive? Then this week Rick and Daryl, 2 of the show's strongest characters, are made to look like complete fools? Even the Fonz and his shark jumping shenanigans thinks these plot ideas are getting a bit weird.

For as strong and skilled Rick and Darryl are, they could really use a cunning paranoid strategist schemer type with them.

My 1st thought when I heard the firecrackers, get in the truck and leave.

I read the comic series too and I like the TV plot direction and twists slightly better. Laughed at how some of the fanboys this morning are upset that Rick and Michonne aren't 'canon'. Like he's supposed to develop a romance with long dead Andrea to stay true to the comics or remain single forever? There hasn't been 'spoiler' chance since season 2 when major characters started living and dying differently.

That's kind of my problem with Jessie. Putting up with porch **** messed up her kids.

There's some truth to that. She really was doing the best she could after that, though. I just wasn't ready for two kids that would continually require "rescue". I recognize Judith isn't exactly capable of fending for herself, but she's a baby. Sam was probably 11, 12 years old. Too big to carry...

Man, I really sound like a heartless *****, don't I? :)

The problem is Rick's love interests haven't been long for the zombie world. I could see Michonne being written out this season.

I loved the comment in the Talking Dead.

"At first I thought it might be Carl. Carl, cover you eye!"

Eh, not as much as me. I have worked with victims for years and in real life they walk a pretty difficult line. Everyone posits why don't they leave, but in reality, that is when violence escalates, they often have been controlled to the point they have no financial resources, they are afraid their porch dicks might then turn violent against the kids if they haven't been already, etc. However, that community actually alleviated some of those issues, at least as far as food and shelter. Staying with porch **** made those kids completely dysfunctional however.

I've watched Sam get eaten 4 or 5 times. It gets better each time.

She was relatively likable, but her back and forth with Sam was annoying. One minute she doesn't understand why he is acting like that, the next, she is letting him live on the 2nd floor. And given his unpredictability, why on earth would you allow him to walk around during their slow escape amid the walkers and see what is happening. I would have covered that kids head with a sheet. It was obvious that he would freak out at some point. And if I'm Carl, not a chance in hell am I walking in front of porch **** junior under any circumstances.

The writers had to kill all of them because their characters had no future. She would have been useless had either one or both kids gotten eaten.

I dont agree with this, she definitely could have become a useful character. Yes her youngest was pretty annoying right now but it seemed more like shock than an incurable issue, then again pretty much every child has had a point where you just hope a pack of walkers consumes them. I am not terribly upset about all of them dying but that is really only because it renewed Ricks faith that people arent inherently evil or a liability and seemed to really push the story forward.
