I feel like they'll be middling at worst. Could very well be a tourney team again. Just not as good as this year, obvi.

win both this week and we are top 7 next week. I don't care that iowa is #3. Doesn't look bad on our resume that we have wins over two of the top 3 teams in the nation
The B1G as a whole may be down but Iowa, so far, is not.
We shouldn't care anymore though. We played each other and ISU won. That's it. Move on.
They are no doubt reaping the benefits of a soft schedule (due to poor conference play) yet again. Maybe these new mega conferences aren't so great after all? Wish we could go a couple rounds with Rutgers this year...
Not sure we get that high next week, even though we probably should with wins over four of the top 5.
So by this logic ISU starters are top 5 worthy but our bench pulls the team down to 14?
I think we're trying to read to much into this. ISU was top 5 lost 3 out of 4 (close games to good teams) slipped to 19 and now is on a 3 game winning streak and climbing. I really doubt most voters know the 6,7,8 men on any top 25 team. Burton already does have 2 New Commer of the week awards too if they are paying attention.
Iowa is top 5 by virtue of not losing since Hilton. I don't think the voters really believe and there next loss will result in a substanitial drop.
KU may have depth in #'s and HS rankings, but Self has shown he doesn't have belief in yet at least yet. They aren't using it only played 6 players Saturday.
OU doesn't drop because a loss at ISU was expected and their Baylor blowout reassured voters.
TA&M is a good team and undefeated in the SEC which is worthy of a top 5 ranking not a result of thier depth.
I'll add SMU only has 7 scholarship players and was ranked at 13 one spot above ISU. They are practicing 4 on 4 in practice. If Voters were really concerned with depth I would think they dropped a lot more than 5 spots after a loss to Temple.
I am not trying to flame on this specific post, but just getting a little tired of the lack of depth narrative.

Sad to think that the blogs belonging to the number 3 team in the nation are that empty..........
strange that we beat OU and they stay at #1 while we beat them and win on the road and only move up a few spots after a ******** of teams lost. seems that it is ok to lose to us, but we don't get the credit for beating them?!? hmm.
We also dropped 5 spots when we lost at their place in a very similar game. Hmm...
We were badly over ranked to start the year (at least at that point) now we are badly underranked. Imagine if Iowa were ranked 3 when we played them. The big knock on ISU was we hadn't neat anyone and then lost to UNI and we nose dived. We have 2 top 5 wins and one bad loss (though not as bad as UNI has made it on paper) that UNC also has. If we win the next 2 and are still behind Iowa I will be irritated. Probably good for them to play with a chip on their shoulder though.

We are the 3rd highest four-loss team. I think you can argue we're a little low, but not badly under-ranked.
FWIW, Bracket Matrix has us as the third 3 seed, or the 11th overall team, which would be closer to where I think ISU belongs right now.
Because they were dog **** without Van Fleet. Since his return they are beating up on a down Missouri Valley. And UNI is pretty much turned into dog **** since beating UNC and ISU. So yeah, I would say they are a little overrated.
It's UNI and it's not even debatable. It's a horrible loss. Unfortunately, it still probably looks like a better loss now than it will be in March with the way UNI keeps tanking. They are a total joke. Obviously though we would take that Big 12 loss back.
