Think Matt Campbell Will Try and Flip this Iowa Commit?

Maybe you are being sarcastic, if not.. yikes that's pathetic. Almost as bad as locking down the Augustana thread because Iowa is winning.

Iowa fans are poor losers---and even worse winners. Just ask any fan from ISU, Minnesota, Nebraska, Mizzou, Illinois, Northwestern, Wisconsin. They all hate Iowa fans

This thread is awesome - almost like a bug zapper for Hok trolls.

Much like a bug zapper, Hok trolls can't help but post here, and when they do, they get zapped by the big man himself.

I don't foresee Iowa having a bad year next year. Their schedule is nearly just as much of a joke as this year, and they have nearly this whole team back again next year.

Lazard ended at #47 in the country, this kid is #27 and could go up or down from there. His dad played for Iowa, Lazard's dad played at Iowa State. You won't find a better comparison so not sure why you'd even argue that

Let's use the 24/7 rankings instead

Great commit for Iowa. Congrats, "CoolHawkeye." No go talk about it over on Hawkeye Nation.

#Banned

Starting threads like this is not a legitimate attempt to have discussion. It is blatant trolling. Thus, the ban was deserved. Nicely done CW.

It's not like there aren't plenty of other Hokeye "troll-types" to promote their perspective here.

We should have no tolerance for Hokeye and KU trolls starting threads!

Agreed, the only time I'm starting a thread like that is if I have grown tired of CF and crave the banhammer

Meanwhile, Jon Miller wouldn't let me on Hawkeye Nation under the username I post on here just because it says "clones."

Unlike Jon, Chris and the rest of the mods on here at least give Hawk fans time to make an *** of themselves before getting the ban hammer.

Works for me. Both are high level legacy recruits. I never said one was better than the other but you're not going to find a better comparison

Well, we do know one thing. Lazard has lived up to his hype for the most part. This kid is still over a year away from signing with Alabama. There's no comparison.

Jon Miller is an idiot and his site is far inferior to the rivals Iowa site.

Epenesa has a more impressive offer list and is far more valuable according to 24/7. Definitely the best comparison you'll find, agreed. I wanted Lazard badly. Great prospect

Far more valuable is a stretch. Epenesa looks more impressive on paper but the gap between #13 and #83 in football recruiting is very small when you consider how many prospects are out there. Like I said, nobody was trying to say who was better or worse just saying it's pretty much an identical comparison.

Only difference is Lazard ended up #82 and signed with ISU, who knows where Epenesa will end up and if he'll sign with Iowa (I assume he does). Plus Lazard has proven he's a stud on the field, Epenesa sure looks the part though.

The difference in offers is pretty significant. Epenesa's offer sheet dwarfs Lazard's despite committing at roughly the same time in the recruiting cycle.

Maybe that's because Lazard was considered a Hard Commit to ISU. Iowa and Notre Dame made late pushes, but I think AL was pretty solidly committed to the good guys.

Lazard and Epenesa both committed around the same time in their recruitment (Lazard in December of his junior year, Epenesa in January of his junior year). You're telling me that schools didn't recruit Lazard hard BEFORE his commitment to Iowa State because they thought he would commit to Iowa State? Because that is a very wrong assertion for you to be making.

His offer list is bigger because of the position he plays. A high level WR isn't nearly as difficult to find as a high level defensive lineman. That is the most obvious reason for range of offers. Most schools wont spend a bunch of resources courting a wr when there is countless good options available. But a Dline recruit, you better believe his phone will be ringing off the hook for a long time. Better hold on to your hats yellow birds.

So you didn't read what I wrote.

Epenesa looks more impressive on paper

nobody was trying to say who was better or worse

That is the most asinine thing I've ever heard. A high level WR is as coveted as a dline. Passed is a stud. Epenesa is a stud. Epenesa is being courted heavily because he's an elite talent

Eh, I feel like D-lineman recruits like Epenesa are generally more coveted than high-level receiver recruits. It's just more important to have elite pass-rushing and edge-establishing than it is to have an elite receiver. But let's be honest, I'd rather have both.
