meh. I wonder if they keep Kaepernick.

I'll go on the record as being incredibly wrong on Kelly, this year. I thought for sure they'd bounce back, and not be as bad as they were. I thought for sure he'd get at least another year in Philly. I thought his previous two years of success would guarantee that. I had no idea how little he was liked in the locker room. This doesn't feel like a great hire for SF, just because it takes a certain type of player to run his offense, and I'm not sure they have a whole lot of them on the roster.

Sounds like they didn't get their "yes man" I heard they wanted in a coach.

So let me get this straight, the 49ers brass who couldn't get along with Harbaugh because of his demeanor and stubbornness, are now hiring Chip Kelly who, according to Eagles players and others, refused to change anything because of stubbornness and has a similar demeanor to Harbaugh. Hmmm.

but this time it will be different...

If he's like Harbaugh, I like the hire. Harbaugh took the 49ers to 3 straight NFC title games and within 5 yards of winning the Super Bowl. If Kelly produces results like that, he can be as stubborn and have whatever demeanr he wants as far as I'm concerned.

Feels like a god awful hire to me. Maybe they think he'll be better in a situation where he doesn't have the same amount of control over the roster? I thought for sure he'd end back in college football next season.

Looks like some 49er players will be jettisoned soon to other teams. The better ones.

I think Chip is a good coach but a bad GM. I'm sure he learned a lot in Philly too. I think it's a good hire.

Why get rid of a Harbaugh for a Kelly? I feel like they're the exact same.

Guys don't like Kelly because he's a ****. Guys don't like Harbaugh because he pushes hard and I'm not sure I buy that he lost the 49ers locker room. Plus, Harbaugh is more proven at this point. The 49ers are an awful organization right now.

Chip will have success in SF. Chips record in Philly 27-21 with two 10 win seasons, he had success in Philly.

What other coaches in the league had a better record over that 3 year period(NE, GB, Seattle, Steelers, ?)? In the conference, none (Dallas 2nd with 24 wins)

Andy needed to go. Philly sports/media will eat you up, not so much in KC.

There comes a point where you can't do much more with the same team. He got close multiple times in Philly, but it just didn't work out. He ended up chasing his own tail. A fresh start was necessary for both parties.

I think the biggest strike against Chip is that he ran off or got rid of all of the talented players that got him those two 10 win seasons.

I think his ego led him to believe that his scheme was more important than having talent on your roster.

Add to the the reports that the Eagles players got sick of his crap real fast and he's really hurting himself.

I think he could have some success, but it's not like the 49ers are overflowing with talent.
