Give credit to the panthers, they played a hell of a game and Washbun was the man. No need to freak out, just need to get better. Still love these Cyclones. Get up and get on.

Honestly i hate to say it but we might have needed this loss to get our guys heads on straight. Let alone uni had the best shooting performance theyll have all year

You're probably right. Just last night...and that time they beat the #1 team in the nation. How many other schools have multiple top ten wins right now?

They had a once a year type shooting performance and we couldn't throw it in the ocean yet we were a Niang slip away from winning. I would love to know what our FG percentage was outside of 5 ft because it had to be around 15%-20%. Given what transpired in the game I'm fine with this loss. Just one of those nights.

This UNI team was a bad match up for us too. By playing smaller than us, they created match up issue for us. Niang and Nader had to guard a shooter on the perimeter all night. Those shooters made their 3 point shots. We in turn pounded the ball inside. While we had success, it is hard to match 2 pointers for 3 pointers.

In a lot of ways, UNI used our own formula for success to beat us.

I'll agree about ISU's shooting, but this was a fairly typical UNI game. They shoot the rock and they're good at it.

You serious?

Here's their 3 point % this season.
CSU - 37%. Loss
SFA - 41%. Win
UNC - 39%. Win
DUB - 46%. Win
UND - 63%. Win
UNT - 45%. Win
RICH - 39%. Loss
GMU - 39%. Win
UNM - 24%. Loss
ISU - 59%. Win

Going into last night, UNI's season average from 3pt was 41%. They shot nearly 20% better from 3pt last night than their season avg.

If it was a typical UNI game, then why did Washpun and Jesperson both have career highs last night? It is amazing looking at just the 3-point stats that we had a chance to win this game.

We have a very good team, but we do not have the defense to win the conference or a national title, but they are still make them fun to watch, most games.

I do not know for sure, but Monte's hip must have still been bothering him from the beginning. He just did not have any of his normal game, he is a better defender than he showed last night.

Yeah, if you only show me the 3 point stats for each team and not the final score, I would guess ISU would have lost by 15-20 points.

All night I kept just waiting. They will start missing, it will always work its way back to averages. Mean while, Clank! clank! clank! ISU should eventually start making. It's math right......

Part of the reason UNI shot so well is that we gave them wide open shots that were in rhythm..

Good shooters are going to knock down shots at a high percentage if you let them take wide open looks and get into a groove.

Losses happen...we weren't going to go undefeated, and UNI isn't a bad team at all...the bigger issue is that this is the 5th consecutive game we've played wildly mediocre basketball...it just happens to be the first time it's came back to bite us in the loss column.

I haven't gone back and watched it on tv, but I feel like this is wrong. The 3's that were open were beyond NBA range. The ones that were more normal were well guarded. Heck if I remember right they made a couple fade away 3's.

I'm sure you are right. I can think of maybe three or four that weren't well guarded, and most were early.

Our issue was that we could not keep washpun from going left. When he was forced right he was forced to make much more difficult passes and tough shots.

Most of their 3's were great looks that they were able to step into without being heavily contested..rewatch if you want to, but it's just as frustrating the 2nd time around.
