I thought he would be back next year and have a chance to be a decent 2nd or 3rd option at WR. Jeff Woody said on the podcast that he won't be back? This surprised me. To bad, thought he really put in work the last offseason to put himself in a position to see more playing time.

Re: Montgomery

Already a thread about this and Woody confirmed on Twitter that he was wrong because the though D'Vario was a senior

Re: Montgomery

It'd be great to see him make a big splash next year as defenses focus more on Lazard. He has seemed like the guy that has always had loads of potential but has consistently underwhelmed

The reason he lost weight is because he DIDN'T want to play TE

I felt that was a bad move for him to slim down. He wasn't a burner on the edge, he was a physical possession WR and this year he didn't have as much of that element.

I watched a 5'8" cornerback put him on his *** during a block so playing TE isn't happening. Maybe that redshirt we have will establish himself as a valuable player this fall.

Was that CB Stephon Brown?

I didn't like that Montgomery lost weight this year. As a sophomore, he really used his frame to shield off defenders on slant routes and he would usually drag a defender or two for extra yards. I get wanting him to lose weight and add speed to be a deep threat, but we don't throw deep anyways so it was pointless.

I blame Mangino.
