Lard commitment?

Why does it matter if it's never been done before?

That's a popular thing around here right now. If it's never been done before then it can never be done at any time in the future. Like kneeling 3 straight downs and then punting with not much time left on the clock.

He came here with TJ telling him he'd have a good chance to earn a scholarship. I would assume that would have something to do with him coming here.

It wasn't coming here to "earn" anything. If they had 2 he would get one, if not he would not get one. Simple as that

Huh? He came here knowing that he was going to be a walk-on. There was an open scholarship, so we gave it to him. He has to know there's a chance he goes back to being a walk-on next year.

More like certainty.

I think that if they tell Ashton that he's not going to be on scholarship next year he'll transfer to a smaller school where he'll get a scholarship. I just don't see him being on scholarship this season and then staying on the team with no scholarship next season. The only way he'll be on the team next year imo is if he's on scholarship again.

Just my opinion. Not here to argue with tough guys.

So what if he did? I like the kid, but he's not going to see much meaningful playing time in his time here (as is the case with most walk-ons). We'll have Burton, Long and Jackson all coming to replace Naz's guard scholie and maybe Monte (although I think Monte will be back). If a walk-on wants to transfer somewhere else where he can get a full scholie and more PT, more power to him. It's not going to devestate this team if he does it though.

Nick Babb as well.

If he's not awarded a scholarship and he transfers big deal. He will get one if there is one but I bet a lot of money that that's the only way he will

Andrew Lopez (Sports journalist/covers recruiting in New Orleans) on what Lard brings to a team.

@_Andrew_Lopez: @CycloneBBFB @noelitebball @ThatD1Boi Strong, physical. Will get any ball around the rim. Better defensive player than off at this point.

Kansas fan that talks **** about every single basketball recruit ISU gets. No matter how good, 4* or whatever, his first response to national media that announces it is, "Who?" Then the next six tweets are how Kansas is better than ISU. He also brings up the occasional all-time record between the schools, and eventually 11 straight.

Sounds like we may have discovered tuco's true identity.

If he does come it appears were going toward a bit of a different look with how posts are used (more of a defensive look than offensive). The big guys we have returning next year and the incoming big recruits seem raw on offense and as far as I can tell dont have much range. Not having seen much of Murray St in the past beyond the pg being a scoring guard how else did the team scoring break down?

How many times has a kid been put on scholarship for one year and taken off the next year? I've never heard of that happening.
Plus this year the 4 year scholarships begin if I understand the new rule correctly scholarships are not 1 year anymore. Once you are placed on scholarship you remain so up to year 4. So at the minimum wouldn't it be a 2 year scholly for him since he is juco?

Malou? And Young has a nice 3 pt stroke. 6'8" bigs who can score at all levels arent exactly falling from the sky. Prohm wants shooters at all 5 spots. He is on the record saying that.
