Ames Cyclones AAU Team

The roster is:
Tanner Hansen - Ames Sophmore
Chanse Creekmur - Marshalltown Sophmore
Kyle Rodgers - Ames Sophmore
Will Frantzen - Ames Sophmore
James Wandling - Ames Sophmore
Doug McDermott - Ames Sophmore
Darin Blum - Ames Freshman
Nick Smith - Johnston Sophmore

That's the roster from the previous weekend at the Adidas Festival of Teams II

Yes. Harrison and Doug are friends. Martin Brothers don't have a lot of tournnaments and so whenever the Martin Brothers don't they play with the Ames Cyclones this is because they have been a team for so long and are all great friends. They also love going to the tournaments because they do a lot of other activities other than the basketball games but when it comes time to play everyone becomes serious. Sometimes if there is a Martin Brothers tournament scheduled and Cyclone tournament scheduled then its up to the player on what they would like to do. Usually its 50/50; one time they go with Martin Brothers next time they go with the Cyclones.

How is the Nick Smith kid from Johnston? I have heard he is real good but undersized

Smith looked real well at the Attack Tourament (Festival of Teams) last weekend. Especially on the boards, and has quite the soft touch from the perimeter for a big man.

(Little off topic) I see AHS Soph Stuve, Palo, Weber and Barnes on AIA and the rest on your roster. What happened to Kohler? (Baseball???)

Alright to answer the Nick Smith question he's a good player and can hit the three very well for a big man, he's nice on the boards too. Bubu Palo - Attack, is not a sophmore by the way in regards to the next question. But Stuve - Attack, Weber - Attack, and obviously Barnes - Attack, now James Kohler has the ability to play with the Ames Cyclones. But for now James and baseball is what has him not playing AAU ball at this time.

Frantzen is real good at basketball and football both, but right now he is concentrating on basketball since he is now dunking and is one of the best rebounders on the team.

Is he a freshman then?
