They chatted about this a little today and I mostly listened. It was mostly so do you hate all of X religion because of this? And French person is like nah, it's not so much religion and people of that religion were killed in the attacks anyway. It came up because French person is fairly certain they got their lunch for free today because of Friday.

Just sort of cool, I guess? To see that kind of interaction.

Some of the crap coming out of both the left and right over this is ridiculous. Whether it's one side saying "less gun control" or "anti such and such religion" or the other side screaming racism or what have you. Why can't we just all take a moment come together on this horrible situation instead of immediately trying to knock the other side down?

that's a bit of what I thought as I listened. It helps that they both get along very well anyway and I don't think either are particularly religious. Just made me appreciate how much of an international perspective I can get on things from the people I work with everyday.

Same here. Much broader perspective, and appreciation for people that are "not like me"...whatever that might be! ;)
 
Hey KC, tell PapaLew to get better. I hope you told the grad student that she needed to scream her head off to fill the void you're leaving.
 
Interestingly, she's about half my size, and her hair is even longer than mine - down around butt level. She was VERY excited though, and very grateful.

Gave me the warm fuzzies. :)

I got busy fighting my own battle with sloth. It was sloths kinda day, dark, gloomy and rainy. But I took him down hard this afternoon and even repotted two of my big indoor tree that I have been meaning to pot for months.* Now a normal person would have done this outside in the summer when the weather was nice rather then on a tarp in the middle of the living room but I think we have already established i am not normal.


* It's a landscape architect thing....gotta have big *** indoor plants if you live in the tundra.

I've been battling my own sloth the past few weeks. Something is going on and I went to the doctor last week. We'll see what comes back on my CT Scan. Does laziness show up on those?
