But seriously, your wife had to know that telling her mom that her son was annoying wasn't going to be received well, didn't she? Either way, I approve. No sense surrounding yourself with someone that's annoying for 3-4 hours when you have other options.

Damn your SIL sounds like a home wrecker.

She did know it was coming but for once spoke up. I am proud of her for that. He is the youngest of four and she is the oldest. He is supposedly super smart so in elementary he got pushed ahead a grade. So at 17 he graduated HS after being self taught home schooled because he was bored in school and never did his homework because he didn't need to do it to learn the material...so he got horrible grades. This summer he told me he was going to take 20 some credits this year at KWood because high school wasn't challenging. I told him he is in for a world of hurt and walked away. On Sunday we were taking family pictures and he was being his normal 17 y/o smartass self and my wife told him to just obey someone for once and her mom told her to stop.

Oh! So my wife does home daycare with her mom. My wife is the organized one and her parents well...never have any money, never communicate and believe that "well it would be okay with me so it must be okay for everyone else." So yesterday my wife was picking up one kid from pre-school and her mom called and said "by the way we are going to the Play Station (a indoor playground place)". All is fine until they get all the kids loaded up and her mom tells her that they don't have any money in their account so can we pay. She has very understanding clients that don't seem to care if they take the kids anywhere. Needless to say we are looking forward to taking it over January 1.

Well, without actually judging, since I don't know all the facts, I'll say that generally, if there's someone you wouldn't want to go, ask in a way that politely makes it clear that they're not part of the group being asked. Like, she could have asked if her M&D want to go, or if other family (by name) might want to go. If it was just an open ended invite, I can see where coming back with "Oh, but not him" would be kind of awkward.

This I completely agree with and I have no idea why she asked the way she did...but oh well.
 
My daughter's soccer practice changed from Thursday night to last night and it's throwing me off today. I keep thinking today is Friday. This suuuuuuuccckkkkkss.
 
I need to catch up on posts from the last 12 hours, but I forgot to give pants props for the spotify playlist. Thanks buddy, its been my desk music for the last few days.

Mixing business with family, huh? No. Friggin. Way. Someone always has to be the bad guy when things get tough. I hope you guys make it a clean break when you do take it over. It will be a huge weight off your shoulders.

My iphone does this, at times it makes navigating the site a complete *****. I usually just close the app and restart my phone, then open and close the app again, it seems to work.

Yeah. My MIL has attempted a couple of times to get a new job but so far no luck. She will be staying on working for my wife and we are hoping my wife taking it over and running it well...as a business will take away most of the issues. We will see.

Ha, I shared it with Nickels. About every couple of hours I send her a text that says "I think such and such song is my favorite on the playlist" with that particular song being different from the last time. I'm sure after a week she's getting sick of it.
