Welp my 3.6 and I will see ourselves out until we get a chance to see what BDK current GPA is.

She just got up and is leaning into a small, gray Porsche talking to somebody. Boxster - What color is your car?

Metallic Meridian is the official color which looks silver gray to some. Boxster mobile is safely in the garage about 3 miles away from puking girl.

I struggle with defining "home" and/or answering the question "where are you from" because I moved so many times before settling in Iowa (and I've even lived in 3 different towns here in the last 30+ years).

I was born in Cali (specifically Covina - which doesn't exist any more), but before I was 6 months old my family moved back to TX where most of my extended family lived (grandparents & most of my aunts/uncles). Learned to talk there, hence the mild accent when I'm tired. When I was five, we moved to Washington State. Lived there 6 years, moved to Cocoa Beach for 2.5 years, then back to Washington where I spent my high school years. Left for WAZZU, lived there for six years while the ex completed grad school (during that time my mother passed away and my father remarried & sold the house we had lived in, so that wasn't "home" any more). Next came 20 months on a post doc at KSU, 2.5 years in industry in the SF Bay area, then finally here.

I've put down roots in Iowa...we lived in Ames briefly then bought a house in a nearby town where I lived for 20 years. We've been on our acreage since 2003.

So now, when you ask "where are you from", do I answer with where I was born, where I started walking & talking, where my family roots are, where I lived the longest, where I moved from most recently? Sooooo many different definitions. I was born in greater LA, my roots are in Texas, most of my childhood/adolescence was in western Washington, and I've been a citizen of Iowa for 31 years. Guess I'm as much an Iowan as anything else. :)

Sometimes I envy people that have lived near family and friends their whole lives. There's a certain amount of stability in that. However, if my father (and later my ex) had not moved our families I would not have had the opportunity to experience so many different places so closely. I'm okay with the direction my life took. :)

Short answer: "Home" is our little neck of the woods where PapaLew & I live.

That seems like the right color. You better check the garage. She left that vehicle and drove off in a darker gray late 90's/early 00's Toyota. She seemed to stay in the correct lane for the 2 blocks I could see.

I was a goodie goodie in high school. My 3.95 (out of 4) landed me just out of the top 10. Lots of competition from the nerds.

"Another cow..."

"I think it's the same cow..."

Also a goody-goody...but a 3.85.

When I say home, I usually mean my hometown. Although, here's the weird thing. If something...God forbid...would happen to my husband, I don't think I'd move back. I think I'd probably stay in Iowa, most likely Des Moines. My hometown and surrounding area has just changed too darn much. Plus, with how messed up Illinois state politics have gotten, I'll stay away.
