Dear America - Iowa Doesn't Care What You Think

I do know a group of about 15 tavern hoks taking a party bus from Des Moines to Iowa City. 8,000 tickets left and not one of these fans are thinking about actually going into the stadium. Trash.

I hate people who have fun as well.

Its more fun not going into the game?

I guess everyone has their own idea of fun.

I would not spend a nickel to go to a bar or football game in Ames, but if that is what entertains you feel free. Either way I am not harmed.

Feel free to be outraged though.

So you applaud Hawk fans that think going to a bar is more fun than supporting the team?

What does it matter ?
Does going to a game make you a better fan? Do you get graded on your fandom levels?
You guys really get hung up on this issue. If you think it matters than I don't know what to say to you.

I'd be embarrassed if ISU was 7-0 now and had 8500 tickets remaining for a conference game but then again our stadium doesn't suck so it's probably apples and oranges.

I am shocked that this would embarrass you. You seem very mature and reasonable.

What color is sarcasm supposed to be done in?

Could you tell if the stadium sucked? I mean the product on the field creates a vacuum of suckage that I doubt the stadium has a chance.

That was pretty lame. Think before you post or at least look at Gonzo as a mentor. I really think you can do better if you work at it.

Back on topic, comparing Iowa's first half schedule other other teams really doesn't matter at this point. Ohio State, Baylor, TCU, and basically everyone else (except Iowa) in the Top 10 will see huge SOS increases. Baylor hasn't played OU, OSU, or TCU (all Top 15 teams). Same for TCU. OSU hasn't played the top of their division either.

Like I said earlier in this thread, its a good thing Miller wrote that article now (well a week or two ago) because it won't apply later in the year. It's possible Iowa will play zero Top 25 teams come the end of the season (maybe one in Wisconsin). Compare that to:

Ohio State: 2 Top 15 (Mich, MSU)
Baylor: 3 Top 15 (OSU, OU, TCU)
Clemson: 2 Top 25 (ND and FSU)
TCU: 3 Top 15 (Baylor, OU, OSU)
MSU: 2 Top 15 (OSU, Mich)
LSU: 3 Top 25 (Bama, Miss, Miss St)

Iowa: 0 Top 25 (once Pitt falls out this week)

Iowa will get its shot at Ohio State or Michigan State but without a win, no way they sniff the playoff with their schedule.

That said, all they can do is win the games on their schedule. And they've done that.

Your right I sunk to cyfan cleverness levels there.
Now I am embarrassed. Not as embarrassed as I would be by having a non sell out though. That's the worst.

Really you mean if they lost the big ten title game they wouldn't make the playoff?
Breaking news. How many teams lose their conference title game and make it?

Well we have exactly ONE year of playoff history so that questions is stupid.

Several teams have lost their conference title game and still gone on to play in the national championship game.

Name a team this year that will make it after losing their title game?
