I'm watching a SAW movie marathon with my 8 and 10 year old kids and my 7 year old nephew was watching the first couple movies and then my buzz-kill sister-in-law put a kabosh on the fun and is now mad at me for letting him watch those movies. What is her buzz? My kids have seen all the Freddy Krueger, Jason, Chuckie, SAW, Halloween, and Scream movies at least once....they aren't over ten yet, and they are fine, as far as I know. Movies are just movies. Kids can watch them and be fine mentally. I don't have to pay for my kid's mental health visits....I got a good settlement for getting hurt at work...so I just don't get people's big deal with a little blood and torture on tv.

Dirty, to each their own, but personally I think that's a little young for that type of movie. If I remember right most of those are rated R, and I don't believe you need to be 17, I think over 14 or so would be more acceptable. If your kids aren't having nightmares that great, but some younger kids could easily have them after watching those types of movies. I remember seeing Halloween at a drive in on a stormy night and was nervous the rest of the night left the bedroom light on the rest of the night LOL. Each family has their own views on how to raise their children and that should be respected.

Also what does getting a workers comp claim have to do with any of this?

first dodgeball game was good. I got one of their best guys out by throwing low. Like, it was on the ground, low. He tried to catch it and that didn't work. I was proud. They had like gold disco-y clothes on, it was a good look, haha.

Got home and the other garage door was open. I had pushed the button to close the big one as we left, so we are convincing ourselves I accidentally hit the other button too, despite DH saying he had looked back to make sure the main one closed. Nothing is missing from the garage though, so I think we're ok? Plus, like, the neighbors are home, our garage is in plain view of like, 8 other houses, and it was from 6-9 when people are home.

Right?

My garage door doesn't close about 20% of the time. It happened to me earlier this year and the garage was left open for an entire weekend. Luckily nothing was gone.

Did you check to make sure none of your underwear were missing? I don't think WDSM cares about that other stuff.

He's a troll. That's my only explanation.

I believe it's each parents' decision on when their kids watch things. Maybe she was just upset that you didn't let her know first? Maybe your nephew has nightmares easily? I don't watch zombie shows much because I will dream about them.

Personally, I would have to know for certain that the child understands that it is pretend and that they wouldn't have nightmares. I also personally don't understand the draw to horror movies either.

nothing. Most of what he posts is semi-cavey nonsense.

I assumed he was just trolling to see if anyone will respond to a somewhat strange post.

yeah, we came home from one of the kickball games and the door was open - but I knew I'd forgotten to shut it, so that was less unnerving. A whole weekend wouldn't be good!

My Halloween edition of what is f(*&ed up with 'Merica. I don't do Jimlads because what I sometimes say is so over the top, it should not need them. I am not that relativistic as you NWICY......any parent that lets their kids watch a SAW movie should NOT be respected....they should be *****-slapped and their kids should probably be taken away from them and given to someone who loves them.
I know...."don't judge". f that.

For me personally it's pain. I get nightmares super easily/not be able to fall asleep, but I can understand the appeal of horror movies. I personally don't get the appeal of watching someone torture someone else.

Seems like our RT family may have some issues with garage door poltergeist.

Well, it is Halloween as I was reminded when I went to the grocery store tonight. Out front with flashing lights was a replicate Ghost Buster mobile with lights flashing and dudes dressed as the Busters. Turns out Byerly's was have some big kids Halloween thingy. Oh, most excellent timing to go grab some bachelor chow!

I saw a few horror flicks as a child, gave me bad nightmares and I've avoided them since. I know someday pants is going to make me watch killer clowns from outer space and that was one that stuck out as a kid.

Fun. Friends talked me into taking Z to their house to trick or treat tomorrow. They even asked what to have on hand for her. So I kinda have to take her. :)
